Post graduation blues

Well, I haven made it past my first major hurtle, since begining my weightloss journey...My beloved son graduated high school last Sunday, and the following day he had orientation at his College.  They had a meeting for the parents as well, since his dad passed in 2004 it has just been him and me, and my adopted child Frankie the cat....I managed the graduation and party with dignity, didn't break down, but, I lost it when I found out at orientation that move in day is August 30th, as classes begin on Sept 1, I became really , really, sad and a bit depressed, it took me a few days to somewhat snap out of it, but, I didn't feel the need to go crazy eating, didn't even want to.  Instead, I got a little crazy and went out and bought some little brothers and sisters for the cat for when my son is gone....I bought and aquarium and filled it with fish...I have had them in the distant past, on my way home, I wondered what the heck I had done, cause I was drivng by this store I drive by about 100 times a day and had never given it a thought.  So everything is set up, everyone has names, and I realize, this is my first step in filling what will be my empty nest syndrome, but, also, as sudden a decision as it was, it was better than going out and buying a bunch of food I would not and could not eat.  So hopefully in some strange way, this is how I chose to cope with this situation !!!  I don't know if this if good or bad or what the heck it is, but, I feel okay with it !!!  I hope this will be one of my positive diversions as I love all animals and fish and wild life, I just don't have the space I use to, to have more four legged friends !!!  Besides , I think Frankie is already a little preturbed about the new additions...LOL...!!!
