Possibilities

So I am in my 4th year of college, double majoring in elementary education and dance performance. I never wanted to before, but lately have been wanting to teach in inner city schools. I have been thinking about it for a couple of months now, and I thought I had mentioned it before, but brought it up to my dad today and he flipped out. He absolutely does not want me to do this, but I kind of feel like it's my calling... I don't know. I at least want to look into it. My parents think they are losing me just because I have started having ideas like this and *gasp have a black boyfriend
I am also thinking about student teaching abroad in England for 8 weeks. My parents and my boyfriend are both all for this, recognizing that it is a great opportunity. I'm excited about what could be in store for me in the future, but get so disheartened when my parents shut me down like that. Obviously they can't stop me, but I wish they weren't so against things that mean so much...
