Positive--for once
It's been awhile since I've wrote a journal entry. So tonight I would like to list some positive things that are happening in my life for once--instead of bitching about all my shit all the time. So here it goes:
my son is seeing a psychiatrist and is now on medication for pediatric bipolar--this is fantastic news because since he has changed meds he is doing so well and I feel like I have my little boy back!
I still love my job! I'm still traveling and meeting new people!
my daughter, who is turning 5, is still my sassy surfer girl! She's been in her bikini all winter (in the house of course)
my meds are at a stable level and I feel great! I do have my "moments" but, hey, don't we all?
I'm going to Zumba at least twice a week and walking every chance I get. I've lost about 12 pounds since this time last year and I am just so damn proud of myself!
I'm turning 40 this summer and I've made a decision to not carry a black purse, to wear heels, and to let myself actually wear a dress. These are MAJOR decisions for me. So, I currently am carrying a yellow hobo bag, wearing black wedges, and just yesterday bought a tailored petite black and white polka dot dress. I'm sooooo EXCITED!!
I've finally figured out my iPod on my iPhone and have the BEST collection of music--it makes me very happy!
my husband is still around. LOL. He likes me and he thinks I'm fun to be around even when I don't and want's to take me to some kind of beach vacation in a couple of years for like a REAL honeymoon! (since our "real" honeymoon was at Incredible Pizza)
I'm actually having a "girl's dinner" every couple of months and I'm not nervous or anxious about seeing them!
lastly---I think I'm the same girl I've always been. I think I will always have issues, from childhood and from present day. I think I've cherished every single moment I've been in a 12 step meeting, a therapy session, or chatting with a stranger about nothing much. I know that I use people to fill up what is lacking in me. Sometimes. I know that I am loveable and worth it and that I work damn hard at trying to figure out stuff. I know that I'm not perfect and I don't pretend to be. I know that I can take criticism (ok, maybe) but that I desperately want someone to tell me the truth. I'm thankful. And even though I don't trust much, when I do, it's for life.
And last of all.............I will NEVER quit smiling. Never. Ever. Quit. Smiling.

We all have a child inside us because of our backgrounds but from what I just read, it looks like this child is growing up finally! You have a maturity about you that I haven\'t seen and you are becoming more positive about your life realizing that you have alot more then you thought you had! You are counting your blessings and realizing that you really don\'t need all that much to be happy! I know that there will be some struggles in both of our lives but I think we are better able to handle them now. We have learned to lean on each other for support during those rough patches. Life is short and we need each other to help us over the bumps in the road of life! Love you my friend and God Bless you!
