poor cats

Two weeks ago, on my bike route to local Walmart, saw a poor cat laying next to a snow bank; looks like he just laid down to die, instead of being hit by a car.

The best I could do for the poor thing, yesterday, was to cover him up with two bags of catlitter, since the local hardware and Walmart didn't have topsoil; my catlitter from July, before my own cat died.  Also put a "r.i.p" notice at the gravesite.  Me complaining how I'm always stuck doing this stuff, with neighbor who drove me said I put myself into such situations, with my reply that if others took better care of their pets....

Today, it's over a week since last Monday that I trapped a cat in the parking lot of apt building where I live---with him still not drinking water, though he is eating.  I looked up such on internet search; might be kidney disease.  What for me to do next with cat; I wonder if it was right thing to adopt him, after he outside too long; vet neuteured him same day he was caught, and was cheap too cause trip was listed as trap and neuter with ear chipped for everyone to know he a trapped and neautered cat.

At least two other cats, of same color, in apt building parking lot, seen yesterday.  And at 330 in morning I throw food out in nearby alley for still another cat i see there.

Me just feeling down and out re all this, with need to write about it....and yeah I know people are sick and dieing from Covid, while I worry about some cats.  But, in my olde age of 62, if I die from Covid, I'll be thrown into some pauper's grave not much better than an animal's grave, though with added "looking for next of kin" notice in local paper from coronor.
