Poetry
After my book was published, I did not believe I would feel compelled to write another poem... I had not written for 7 years and, in a period of a few short months, I began to write again and published a book... I had a major crash and burn and believed it would be another 7 years until I wrote again... I saw it almost as a reflection of the movie, "Awakenings"... Where the patients in the hospital came alive again, for a short time, then returned to their catatonic states... Yesterday, I was able to write three poems... My inspiration and ability is not dead yet... Here is one of them:
Descent
Saffron cotton strandswoven into the tapestryof her sleeping image.Crimson stained floorscaution intervention.Silence sickens the air.Her hands gliding softly, gently absorbing the essenceof moist grasses green.Penetrating tentaclesof malevolent motiveintrude with vicious intent. Her eyes, mesmerized. Her hands, greedily graspingfor sky's silken strands.Lies laced with lemon drops.Actions taken to falsely representthat which is not present.Branches rough barkinnocently scratchingher soft, delicate skin.Violated and brutalized, she entered the realmof the living dead.
