Plugging Along...

Just an update so friends don't worry so much about me.  I am doing ok. I am pulling the plug  on the dating site because I want to take my chances actually meeting up with people in the real world... where there are no surprises.  For now I have actually started to text and chat with someone nearby, He is just 15 minutes away. We have yet to meet... just shared pix for now.  We both are looking for the same thing-- someone who  will love and accept us just as we are.  He does not care about the superficial stuff-- neither do I.   I want to call and talk with him... then maybe we could do takeout and park and chat at one of the many many food places around here.  My how dating has changed. LOL

I look forward to the day when I can cook dinner for someone special... or even some friends again. Yes well. I am done with the pity party. (Please remind me next time I start --- I may need a good swift kick. lol) Looking at those steps forward again and each little one checked off is progress.

I am trying not to take it personally as some of you did say as far as family not reaching out. It does still hurt though. From what many have shared, I am not alone with this ache. Ultimately we all decide what is  or isn't a priority.   Sadly , to me PEOPLE SHOULD BE  a priority.

Like I have said a zillion times-- everything happens for a reason... and (if we are lucky) eventually we do come to understand why.

Many hugs to all (especially those like me who have been feeling forgotten and alone.) and I do hope you know that YOU ARE NOT EITHER.

Kim. hugs my friend. I can understand how you are feeling. I am the oldest and no one calls me. 4 younger sibling all living in Canada. Just pick up the phone and call. I gave up a long time ago. enough was enough. Yes people should come first. But then what can you do if they are not on the same page. Smile turn around and walk away. hehehe. We will be fine. Learning to be our own best friend is important. Learning to appreciate and love ourselves too. It is hard but we can do it. Take as much as "ME" time as you need. You do not have to answer to anyone. Stay safe and strong.

Mary you are right and that is what I am trying to do. It is too bad we are not all in my perfect world (Then we would all be on the same page. But I guess what fun would that be? lol) Many times I see your entries that you are all caught up with the housework and chilling with the critters and working on your next knitting or craft project and I think to myself-- I look forward to that day too. (Will be quite awhile for me though since I still have much to do here at the house. --- but just going to do my baby steps and keep on plugging ahead. ) Thanks for all the encouragement. (and hugs)

you know I reach out because nobody else really does....I think you will get things together when the time/person/setting is right

I climbed the highest mountain in the continental US in February by taking one step at a time. In places with ice I had to cut steps and slowly move up.
Little steps are important.
I will remind you about pity parties if any arise in the future. XO
Glad you’re making a friend

Jason I will hold you to that . (big smile here)
Bill that is part of the reason I have always made it a point to reach out as well. I am all too familiar with what it is like when noone seems to care. As long as I am still here and breathing, there will always be someone who cares. :)

Gee, I forgot all about those pity party. We need to step back to see how far we have come and will continue to grow. I had them all the time when I was going through the divorce from hell.
