Please Pray.
I havn't spoke of this much.
It's aside from all my problems. Tonight it is to vent.
It crushes me to stop and think, but tonight, one to many wines....I need to think, and vent.
This rant has nothing to do with my problems.
I replay this thought over and over....
On December 22nd 2012, I innocently msg'd my best friend... Who told me she was at emergency with her husband, he has lost his short term memory.
I was confused, I questioned what had happened. She was so unsure. She had come home for a shower. I called my partner, updated him on his best mate, he too was confused. I called my mum who was concerned, who knew as a nurse this happens for a number of reasons. She told me, go see her, I just didn't understand. I went... Everyone was normal, her mum there, and their mutual friends....
His dad came over...He walked in, she burst into tears, he told us we had to go, he had slipped into a coma.
I cradled her as we got into the car, I called Jason, told him Id update him at the soonest possible moment.
This moment replays, every day. We got there, I remember him choking on the tube into this throat. I remember holding her as she bawled, I remember hearing them say he has a massive bleed to the brain. I remember all of us being dragged into a small room, telling us his bleed was huge. It was an aneurism that has leaked... they gave him in emergency a 50% chance of living.
I can't tell you the heartache as I called my partner, I told him, you need to come now, he has slipped into coma, he has a 50% chance of living, you need to come and say goodbye. All, I can remember is "FUCK, YOU'RE FUCKING KIDDING ME!?" - he drove..so fast. I called my mum, all I can remember her is saying "no, no no no, please no, you say there for Christmas, you help hold her and you love her, I want you there." I got off the phone, and I cried and I cried, like I have never cried before. i couldn't control it, his dad told me it was grim, and her mum came to the hospital and saw me first and just held me. How do I do this? How do I do this?
Then Jason came...and whatever will I had left, I lost... as he came to hold me the man I had loved for 3.5 years cried, I'd seen him cry once, at the loss of his grandmother. What could I tell him? I held his hand, i took him to say goodbye. How do you take a grown man to say goodbye to his best friend? He stood there and whispered "You will make this mate, I need you, we need you, your wife needs you, your babies needs you, you'll make this, like you did before", he held his hand. It was hard, it broke me.
He underwent emergency brain surgery. We went in...to find that he had stroked 3 times... the next 24 hours were critical. Jason slept on the ICU floor... I went with his best mates wife (and my best friend) to a local motel and attended to 'sleep'.
He made it.
God knows how he did.
5 months later, he is in a home...trying to fight back for her. Every day I pray.
She is about to give birth to twin girls....
I pray every day he will come back...Every day.
My heart breaks, but I have hope. Please God. Please.
Please Pray.
