Play school and the concept of play schooling in India

In these modern times, children are sent to play school very early in their life. Kids of age 3 years are sent to school and often the grandparents wonder what they are getting taught so early in the life and how they will react. Some parents feel all these play school concept is weird and most feel it is must to make their kids compete and keep ahead of other children of their age. Play school is a place where around 10-20 children spend couple of hours each day under the supervision of teachers or mentors. There should be no set goals or any stress on performance at this age. The focus should be on the sensory-motor development and the social development of the child. Children learn how to behave in group. Since most of the parents have only one kid lot of children does not know how to interact with other kids of their age. Play school will help them to overcome this habit. Play school provide ideal opportunity for the kids to learn new things while they play. It is very easy to teach a kid when they play. In that age if you push the kids to study alone they will began to develop an averse to the formal schooling. Ideally one should not do that. Before choosing the school parents should do lot of research. Ideally it should be located in walking distance or within short distance so that they can reach the school early. Also they should choose the school where the environment is conductive for the growth of the kid. They should not choose the school only because it is very famous among other parents.
