Play Date II

It hasnae ever occurred to me that "Date" is a trigger word for me, but as I have worked through the psychotic whiplash of the daycare mother hustling her petite form through the door like a HS Mean Girl, I am beginning to think it really is a trigger for me. It's no big secret that prostitutes are dating demons. Child prostitutes even more so than adult prostitutes. All the Janes and Johns are "Dates." All these decades, I thought I avoided the dating game for the same reasons I avoided Barbie Tea Parties. Looks like a social atrocity to this outsider's view. A game worthy of avoidance. I was barely even aware of the growth of the "Play Date" traditions. That evolution spawned somewhere after my sons were too old for parental involvement in their social lives.

Hubs has been greatly amused to my reaction to the pretentious rejection. His turn to say, "Welcome to my world. Guess why I am STILL so in love with your lack of social skill. It's a highly over-rated skill set. Your talent for seeing and reading what is in individual eyes is nothing shy of awesome." I think I have heard more about his HS dating experiences this weekend than I have during our 40 years of friendship. No, we don't do "Date Nights." Good luck with that, my perky STBX. Who is in **your** ex collection? For certain, not I.

Processing the word, "Date" as a psycho-trigger to my childhood "Dates" has gone a long way in calming the psychosis which has emerged from the rejection. Psychotic calming is my most trusted signal that I am on a solid healing path. Works in progress.

Perhaps I should put, "Alleged" in front of the "Rejection." Her words **could** have been honest. I am highly doubtful of that possibility, but I am also in psychotic episode. I am equally doubtful of my read on the sequence of events. I am expecting the woman and I will return to the Busy People Ignoration we have greeted one another with since the girls started going to the daycare. Welcome to the morning gridlock. My zoom toy is busier than your zoom toy. What is **your** zoom toy doing in **my** car commercial?

Onward through the fog. . . This morning I donae believe I can handle this new child dating tradition. I hear there are apps for that. Is it an oxymoron to put "new" and "tradition" in the same sentence? Not here in the Appy Days. Keeping ^it^ strictly personal, I donae believe I will try again at arranging "Play Dates" for the children. Love kids but not enough to date parents.

No school for Big Bro today. Hubs and I decided to give the girls another family day, as well. The weather has been sublime this weekend and the family bonding has been nothing shy of divine. Praying for stability. Just praying. . .

I'm single, yet I haven't had a "date" in 10 years now, arfie, for similar reasons to yours that you outline here. I do get it.

Sending you support now for navigating this "play date" terrain for the grand kids' sake.
