Play Ball

Today is the opening day for my beloved Cardinals. It sure doesn't seem like it though. It's 37 friggin' degrees out. But I'm a stalwart baseball fan. Cold blustery days don't discourage me...particularly since I'll be watching them on my big screen TV, in my recliner, in a nice temperature controlled environment. (If I could just train the cat to fetch my beer, I would be set. Fat chance there though. The only things she does are eat and  sleep. ) While I would like to say that I long to be down at the stadium, that would be a lie. Fan loyalty is one thing...temperature is another. Hey, it's cold out there. I called and made an appointment to see the neurosurgeon. I see him next Wednesday and then we shall see.   This week is clear though.  I can devote all my attention to the things that matter...like baseball. It's just a couple of hours until game time. In keeping with the spirit of the opening day revelers downtown, I think that I'll have a beer. Hey Kitty, I'm a little parched here. Fetch me a cold one...Kitty?...hey cat, move your butt!....Hmmm,still nothing happening.   Oh well, it seems as if I'll have to end this entry to begin the long trek to the kitchen. I hope that it's warmer where you are and...Go Cards. Be well,Tom

At least we know you will be getting your exercise...walking back and forth to the fridge. Since the cat won\'t behave, maybe you should get one of those recliners that have a built in fridge???

Enjoy the game,

Robin

Do they really make recliners with built in fridges?? Boy, what will they think of next. I know... a recliner with a keg in the back and a spigot next to the arm rest. :-)

I agree. That is too stinkin\' cold to sit and watch a baseball game. I\'m all for the temperate zone, too! It\'s rainy off and on, here. I played traffic controller in it yesterday. I\'m hoping it won\'t be too wet tomorrow afternoon. Then the kid has a week and a day off of school for Easter break.

How did the Cards do?

:-)
