Plans for Treatment

 I have discovered two things:
a) Alcohol is connected to the reward system in my brain.
b) I use Alcohol to deal with emotional issues
Therefore, if I can connect Alcohol with unpleasant experiences it should retrain my thinking in relation to reward.
If I replace my drinking ritual with something other than alcohol, it may have a placebo effect; I will feel the same sense of calm and relaxation that I do when drinking except I will be drinking something that is not alcohol.
I will try these things and report on their success. !!

Week 1:

Failed miserably....
Trying to replace alcohol didn\'t work cause I still felt awful...
I did pick up on something though....

When I start to feel really down or anxious I look for a way of escape whether that is physical or emotional...I ended up going for a drive the other day and it calmed me down.
Maybe I will try just getting out of the house whenever I feel down or anxious...
I think I also need my own space...somewhere that I can just chill out alone.
