planned parenthood

the following is a comment from a reader regarding the latest bill in the Arkansas legsilature. it is the first time that i read an article or a comment that points out that Planned Parenthood only performs a small amount of abortions in America yet garners all the attention for providing abortions at all. i'm wondering who is gaining from the other abortions? after all, if PP does it for cost or in some cases, for free and they only do so for low income women, then it stands to reason that some clinic, or hospital is doing the rest for profit. hmmm....sounds more like elimination of competition than saving lives.....and more so, i have thought for a long time that abortion is merely a wedge issue. it is convenient, it stirs up passion, it provides fodder for campaigns. it does not fix the deficit....a GOP concern....it does not fix unemployment....a GOP concern....it does nothing to address the concerns that the GOP has ran on and campaigned on for the last 12 years....but every election cycle they trot out abortion. oh excuse me....now they have taken it to the next level and are doing something positive. they are eliminating programs and unfunding organizations that try to help low income citizens......

Planned Parenthood PREVENTS more abortions than they perform.PP across this country does around 28% of all abortions, that means someone else, usually a hospital, does the other 72%. So why is it that NO ONE every protests outside a hospital when they do 2 1/2 TIMES as many abortions as Planned Parenthood?  And the facts are not a single penny of tax pay money goes to pay for any Abortions at Planned Parenthood. They have a totally separate agency within PP that handles Abortions and a National Audit PROVED that every penny spend on or in support of Abortions is paid for by Donations specifically for that reason. This is nothing more than the Religious Right wanting to control every single aspect of reproduction in this country and the GOP pandering to them and distracting their voters from asking the most serious question of the GOP... "WHERE are the Jobs you promised us?"
