Plan to Get Out of Bed
I'm not doing a good job getting out of bed. Each morning I woke up, I would try to reason with myself to get out of bed. I would think that I could get up and have fun, read, work hard, or start an artistic hobby maybe. Yet, every morning I keep having negative thoughts to turn down all of that stuff. My negativity doesn't care about absolutely everything including taking care of myself. I keep negatively thinking about dying every morning.
I told this to my counselor this week. Long story short, he wanted me to do some cognitive thinking in order to get out of bed every morning. That didn't work today. As a matter of fact I went back to self-harming after not doing it for a long while. I made myself get worse.
So, my plan is to just focus on getting out of bed next morning. I only want to think of the words, "Get up," and repeat them in my head as soon as I wake up next time until I get out of bed. Repeating those two words in my head an nothing else ought to drown out the negative thinking and maybe I will get up on my own for once. I'm not going to try to reason or try to convince myself to get out of bed. I'm just going to keep telling myself to get up as soon as I wake up.
