plans......

I am the type of person that needs to write lists when I am planning something. Unfortunately, I cannot actually write a list and keep it anywhere because he will most certainly find it and call me on it. I have decided that this time we are going to leave and stay gone. So here is where I will make my plans.

First, I am not sure whether to take a chance and move to NC worrying that he may be able to charge me with taking the kids without his permission over the state lines. We have already moved within the state to the eastern shore, so when we leave that might be the first place he looks for us. There is of course western MD, but admittedly I don't know much about that area. I will start researching the various towns, weather, jobs, schools, driving conditions (I think there are a lot of mountains out there and that it snows a lot--enough said about that subject!) But I will do my research. I personally would prefer to be in a warmer climate and in a place that is in relatively close proximity to a beach, but I guess beggars can't be choosers.

I also plan on researching the whole name change situation, how does that affect me getting health care and schooling for the kids? Is it going to be difficult to prove my parentage if I don't exist? What about homeschooling--I need some info concerning that. I really don't want to put the kids through another change if I don't have to. Meeting new friends and getting used to a new school, but they do need social interaction, so I need to plan for that as well. What activities are around that they could get involved in?

In terms of our needs, I definitely have to research job opportunities, possibly even ways I could earn money through direct selling or something like that so I wouldn't have to leave the house for a job, or at the very least so I would have a second source of income coming in to help with bills and expenses.
I need to be saving money, as much as I possibly can as often as I possibly can. I need to be working on counseling for myself and the kids right now--even before we get out. It is not going to be easy with him being so controlling of everything we do, but I think I can work with the whole angle that the doctor is recommending it for Alyssa's behavior issues. I don't have to explain to him that I am pretty confident that he is the root of all of her issues, from her weight to her behavior, but I can convince him that that is what we are aiming to take care of. The only negative aspect is that he may be very vocal about using that against her when she irritates him. He may never say anything directly to her, but unfortunately he always says things loud enough to ensure that they hear them. I will work on that aspect also.

More later.....
