Pituitary Issue?
So, I saw my endo today for the results of a ton of bloodwork I had run about 2 weeks ago. My thyroid levels were slightly elevated so we are having me alternate with a lower dose of synthroid every other day and will test my levels again in 4 weeks. However, it appears I am deficient in Vitamin D so I am now on a 6 month regimen of Vitamin D per the Endo... 4000 units daily. That may explain my sluggishness. My hormonal tests came back and look as if I am borderline menopause. STOP right there.... put the brakes on- SAY WHAT??? Menopause at my age? No freakin way. Yep, looks that way... he was scratching his head on that one. It could be my Graves or it could be early menopause- questionable. In addition to that news, he suspects a tumor on my pituitary. That news didn't sit as well with me. All I heard was "tumor". And all that plays in my head is "tumor". Seriously, a tumor? That would answer my frequent headaches. Well, my anxiety won't let me google it and I won't let my friends tell me what they googled. I don't want to know. I am having an MRI in the next week to 10 days to confirm the suspicion and I am TERRIFIED. He said it would be an MRI with contrast which terrifies me even more. I asked him if I would be at risk for a thyroid storm and he said it's a possibility with the contrast. SAY WHAT AGAIN? Someone throw me a bone and give me a small break here. On top of all that news, I will see my cardiologist tomorrow for the results of my cardio workup. Whether you know me or not, whether we've exchanged words- please say a prayer for me that the tumor isn't there when I have this MRI and that I will be back to "normal" in due time. PRAY PRAY PRAY. The power of prayer is real. I will update as I receive news....
