Pipe dreaming

It always seems I leap before I jump...  When something is in my thoughts, it is like I can't let it go...
I found out our city provides help with down payments and closing costs...  That will still put me over my budget, but perhaps I can get a roommate to help with the additional fees...
I have actually been looking for funiture on Craigslist...  Some beautiful pieces...
I love the home I am living in, but the thought of my landlords moving into a condo is a bit overwhelming to me...  They are 73 abd 75 and are tired of maintaining a home of their home...
As alwys, it is a pipe dream...
There's nothing wrong with dreaming...

I wish you the best with your new quest. I think we all love to dream! I used to want a house like on Dallas and live like Joan Collins on Dynasty with room service, dripping diamonds and wearing furs!! Wow!! Now I wouldn\'t be caught being so ostentatious, but at the time that was how I thought!
I\'ve reached a point where I find I don\'t need much to be happy. I used to commute to work and wear dress suits and heels and was so happy when we went business casual. We\'d eat at nice restaurants at lunch time. It actually got to the point that I got tired of it! Now that I work from home (same co.) and I can wear whatever I want! I live in flip flops and capris, no makeup!! Maybe I\'m just getting old, but I find I prefer the simpler things in life. Stuff to me now just means dusty clutter :-) .
I hope you can find something nice for yourself!! Everyone deserves a slice of heaven!

Hey watch out with that site on the furniture..I hear too many bad reports...you know places like goodwill and savers have nice pieces-some need some work..but no shame in shopping there

This is PTSD at its worst: fight/flight response. I have it too.

Landlords are moving....where you live is most likely being sold. You can\'t afford to buy it, most likely, although there are Federal programs that may help (you need an experienced mortgage banker to help you, not a mortgage broker). When my stress levels reach their peak, I want to run. I used to run. Sometimes I still do. PTSD is strong and when it\'s at its worst you don\'t know it. My therapist gave me an excellent mantra, it\'s hard to do, but once you start it will imbed itself in your mind:

DON\'T REACT. RESPOND.

Time, a day or two or more, before DOING anything will stop the fight/flight response and will allow cognition to engage so you can make an informed decision. Never make any serious plans when you are in fight/flight.

And please, would you be very careful about Craigslist? Its reputation is dreadful.

I\'m a leaper before I think things out; supposed to be a psychological reason for that.

maybe you can check out walmart online for cheap furniture; a lot of their stuff is even sent right to your door for a mere 99 cents more.

as others have noted...watch out for craigslist! so many horror stories about that site.

I won\'t be able to purchase the home... I spoke with my landlords.and they said they are not kicking me out any time soon... LOL! As of right now, I have everything I need for my home... Perhaps someday...
