Warning to any men who may read this, there is mention of female problems! Okay, so after my hubby tried to get us killed twice on the way to Cinci.  I really wish he wouldn't take his road rage out on my car.  We got to our hotel, the TV didn't work.  We told them on our way to the NF Team Pasta Dinner around 5:30 PM.  We got back to our hotel around 7:30 or so. I was tired and we had to get up at 4:30 AM for the race.  The TV still had no reception and we had a note from management that there was a problem with TV reception on all of the 14th floor.  My hubby was worried that we would be disturbed later in the evening by the "management", so he put out a do not disturb sign.  I was in the middle of changing around 8PM and the phone rang.  The lady at the desk said the TV guy had to get permission to knock on our door and come in the room because we had a do not disturb sign on the door.  I told her we put the sign there because we were getting ready for bed.  She said very snootily, "Well, didn't you complain about something in your room?"  I told her yes, the TV didnt' work, but we were going to bed now as we had to get up early for the race!  She hung up, and the TV didn't work the rest of the weekend.  Oh well.  I didn't sleep well the night before, nerves and excitement.  When I got up Sunday morning around 4:30AM, I had started my period!  Great!  Fortunately I came prepared for any contingency, so I put some tampons and a pad in my pac with my snack, cell phone, sunglasses, etc.  Got outside, it was raining.  Great!  We walked to a Mc Donalds for breakfast as our hotel had no "continental breakfast" and the resteraunt didnt' open till 6:30, the start of the race.  It was raining at the start of the race, but not quite as cold as last year.  Once again, there was no pacer for the people expected to finish at the 5 and a half hour mark.  It was really croweded at the start of the race, and it really annoys me that there were a lot of people walking at a casual place in groups of 4 or 5 who I had to pass, which means they started at the marker for much faster runners.  I mean, I'm sorry, but isn't there a casual "walkathon" you can go to?  Really burns my toast.  Anyway, it rained most of the morning and was pretty much overcaste the rest.  The good part of that was that there was no time when you were cooking in the sun.  The bad part is that there were a lot of bugs when the rain would stop and it was really humid, so my asthma kicked in from time to time.  In the end, I ran it in 5:42:27 with a pace of 13:05.  Not the 5 and a half hours I was hoping for, but better than last years 5:46:57.  Almost 5 minutes.  So I am happy about that.  And I do feel like I will eventually get there.  Oh, and at one point in the race, a woman came up to me and asked if by any chance I had a spare tampon in my pack.  Can you believe that.  Yes I did. lol.  It felt good to help someone else out.  But I am glad it didnt' work out like in the old Alieve commercial, you know the one where the woman carries Alieve with her and it helps so many other people, they start referring to her that way?  The just call out to her, "Hey Alieve"  Cause for me it would be "Hey Tampon"  That would really be embarrassing.  lol.  Okay, well, feeling a bit sore and tired.  But not too bad.  Thank you to everyone who cheered for me, prayed for me.
