I want to post a picture of me but I'm worried about showing my face online.

It's ok to post a picture of yourself. Post it as friends only and you can remove it or set it to only me and no one can see it but you. I'm curious what you look like.

I'd like to see what you look like. I was afraid to post a picture too but it's ok. People here are nice and they say I'm pretty when I'm not so people here are super positive and supportive so don't be afraid to tell people what's going on.

I went through something I was scared about and I posted a picture just incase I came up dead which I see I would have been by now if I stayed. I found out a lot of people was looking for ways to find me so they can help through the police and they couldn't find a way to find where I lived from the site. This place is super private so I can see why they should be able to find you but I can see why they shouldn't. It was my choice to leave my situation not theirs. Have a good day at school.

Yes. There is no way to find you. I asked and searched to find Sweetpea2011 to go in and get her out of her situation. This site can not run your ip address to find you. The only way anyone will know your name, address and even the country you live in is if you tell someone. Yes I talk to a man on here that lives outside of the USA. This site is private so we can get the help we need. Just remember, not everyone will see the same view on issues so if you have a sensitive topic or issue try to discuss those individually. I judge no one and I'm a survivor of extreme abuse, rape, sold for sex and I'm now a single mother recovering from an abusive husband. So feel free to talk to me about anything. I'm a cool chick. Lol

You're safe to post pictures of yourself. Go for it.

I respectfully disagree with Jess and Propinquity, based on my own experiences. I have located three people on this site from their pictures, using Google Lens. (Like Jess, I was unsuccessful in locating Sweetpea.) The majority of people on Daily Strength are as Sweetpea describes - kind, friendly, and well-intentioned. However, there have been sexual predators on this site in the past who have preyed on young teens (both boys and girls). Two of them were recently banned.

If you decide to post a picture, please make certain that you don't include anything that would identify where you live. If you post a picture of yourself standing in front of a landmark in the nearest town, I can run a search and find out what and where it is. Additionally, make certain that you don't wear clothing that would identify where you live. For instance, if you wore a sweatshirt that said "Mount Airy Volunteer Fire Company," I would know that you may live in Mount Airy, Maryland. Nutin_Special is correct that it's also good to limit your pictures to "Your Friends," and be very selective about who you add to your friends list. You can remove the picture or set it to "Only You," once you feel confident your friends had the opportunity to see them.

This site can absolutely run your IP address and find you. They ban individuals based on their IP address. However, they choose not track down individuals on this site for any reason. If there is a concern for someone's safety, they leave that up to local law enforcement.

Finally, please do not use your personal picture as your avatar. Even if you have your profile set to private, everyone on the site can see it.

If you have any questions, please feel free to message me or contact a community leader.
