picked up animal supplies//went to chiro//saw rn and ann//work is attempting a consolidation again
rained a lot today. picked up animal supplies very late (or very early, depending on one's view) and the manager at the store was the only cashier available. she said she had FIVE people call out sick. hope its not a flu going around. grrrr. stopped by rn's who is exhausted from baby sitting. she is now doing 11 hour shifts for them, so whatever joy she was getting from it, is gone. its also five or six days not 3 or 4 AND they are paying her by the week, not the day. wtf?! visited with star, who's fur is growing in. really wish the vet could figure out what is wrong with her. she is on clindamycin again. the other two seem fine and much less shy. she is also bottlefeeding two kittens that were found during the tropical storm. a mother cat left them on someone's porch. my guess is 3 weeks at the most, they aren't quite walking yet.
went to the chiro for a "mini" adjustment. he was running late because he was caught in the downpour. rested after the adjustment this time, he wants you to lie down for an hour after being adjusted, which i normally can't do because i work in an office. so this time i rested at rn's and it did help. still in pain by my neck though. stopped at church near rn's house for prayer. she needs to sign up for gerber, which will send them formula and cereal for the baby for free from the gerber club. told rn's friend the same thing for her birthday freebies, which she has to do now, to get them by e mail for september.
our office is trying to consolidate and have the computer do more again (they tried this five years ago). they want to cut down on payroll people and will save millions if they can do this. they also claim they want to cut down on the number of regional offices (to one in each state). good luck to them, because i don't see how they can do this. they did this for another part of the business and all of that kind of work is done out of lakeland and everything connected to it is done through the mail - no one checks into the office at all, even supplies are sent that way? hmmm. i remember when we did this with photography in the 1990's, they did my tri-county region with me. and the owner/manager said i was the only one they were able to successfully do that with. personally i think the guy that covered newark could have done it as well, but jn didn't like him. no reason either. he had a bad habit of treating employees who were with the company a long time badly and then you had to go over his head to his father to have things done. always so much crap - i think that is the real reason people start looking to retire. its not the actual doing of any job (if you can't even do the job you shouldn't be there at all, look for something else that you actually CAN do and you will never find that something if you stay in something that you can't do and are struggling with all the time) -- its not the actual doing of any job, its the people-crap that they don't want to deal with.
during the latest "consolidation attempt" our regional manager says he wants to retire (he's done this before and doesn't really leave. a lot of people do that and a year later they are either back or working again somewhere else because they get bored). he's the one that goes on those gambling cruises with his cousin. his cousin gambles, he doesn't. he claims this will be it, though. also learned he used to be with the justice department in the early 90's and retired from the F.B.I. back then, on his last retirement, from one of the new york city offices. i didn't even know that - or didn't recall it. so much happening in one week. jn says he's not sure if d announcing his retirement sparked another consolidation attempt or the consolidation attempt sparked d to attempt retiring again. he says the tampa branch now has 30,000 hours per week of accounts and the jacksonville office has 30,000 hours per week of accounts and it looks like they are trying to have those two offices as the only two main offices and everything else will be small branches - so any main offices located in the middle of the state would be absorbed into either tampa or jacksonville.

so cool that he is still \"friends\" with his cousin and they are both still alive to be friends - i think they are both around 60ish. must crack them up actually.
