PHOTOS: PATRICK THE DOG from tinton falls, nj, starved and shoved in a garbage shoot SURVIVED!

PHOTOS of Patrick's AMAZING TRANSFORMATION!  HE SURVIVED!!!!
Kisha Curtis says she couldn’t handle owning a pit bull puppy, so days after getting the dog she tied it to the stairwell door of her Newark high-rise and just left it in the hallway on the 19th floor.  (no food, no water???)

the building's superintendent found the emaciated and shivering dog -- who'd been wrapped in a plastic bag -- just seconds before he would have gone in the trash COMPACTOR!

The dog was discovered in a plastic bag at the bottom of the trash chute, starving and badly hurt. Curtis was arrested and charged with animal cruelty.

Wrapped in blankets, on a heating pad, and given fluids and attention from staff, Patrick pulled through his first 24 hours.

After a brief time at the Society's Newark facility, he was ambulanced to Garden State Veterinary Specialists in Tinton Falls -- a referral hospital with 24 hour emergency care.

Patrick was found, he was emaciated and abandoned.
His cruel owner, Kisha Curtis, starved him until he was nearly dead, threw him down a garbage chute that was 22 stories high and left him for dead.

A maintenance worker found the poor puppy before he was put into the trash compactor, cold and almost dead.

The City of Newark Animal Control was contacted and ACO Arthur Skinner picked up the dog and brought him directly to the Humane Society.

This was his amazing transformation:

he\'s not one of our\'s we are in florida. the foster parent is keeping him. incredibly lucky, they should call him lucky. never give up on a living thing, even if they are skin and bone and have the smell of death - the odor is only DEHYDRATION, once the animal is properly hydrated, the smell of death goes away...sometimes they make it. look at the miracle with this one. god bless.

I\'m so glad he was found. That women ought to be starved and see how she likes it. I have no love for someone like that at all. Sad!! I do pray others like him are found and loved.

the biggest problem is people who don\'t view living things as LIVING. at some point in the past 75 years, people don\'t seem to have a CLUE, about respecting other living things and boundaries with behavior. they are incredibly wrapped up in themselves. people also seem to be \"scared\" all the time, which makes them smaller people as well. they take less risks and they take less CARE - but then don\'t have a pet, don\'t have children and don\'t work or live around other living things at all - try a desert or a rock quarry instead, where hopefully the person won\'t hurt anyone except themself.
