Photographs & Memories
The late Jim Croce did a song called "Photographs & Memories" many years ago. Barbara hated to have her picture taken, and I have precious few of them now that she's gone. Looking through my disc full of family photos for some of her, I looked at countless images of my family members, most of whom are with God now. Lord, how I wish I could roll the clock back to a time when my life was full of people who I loved and who loved me. I was doing pretty good after befriending so many good people here at DS that I thought I could handle the process, but I am bawling my ass off once again. I know that my feelings are valid, and I know that my emotions are nothing to be ashamed of, but I just feel so helpless at this point in time. Never did I think that losing my bride would hurt this much, but it does, and there is nothing that I can do, except to allow for the pain to run it's course. So bring on the pain, Lord. For once in my life I am going to trust in you and allow you to help guide me through this. For I cannot do this without you................

Joe,
This is the most difficult thing that any of us here will ever have to endure - we will have good moments and bad moments (I can\'t even say good days and bad days yet)...........Feeling emotional, helpless, desperate - these are all normal and the pain will be there, like a stabbing in your heart.
God will help you through this - your faith is a wonderful thing and we can not do this alone............we need each other and we need our Lord.
Wishing you a peaceful weekend. Hugs to you,
Chris
Joe,
My wife also was not one to stand still for pictures. I am also looking through the family discs. There are several that I can just crop the other things and people out and have a picture of Rene\'. This task alone is so upsetting that it brings tears to my eyes. Photos are always taken at happy events. Rene\' loved being around people especially family. That was her thing. The pain continues and always will but I am so new to the loss that I know it will take help from the people here, family and God
Peace to You
Dave
Joe,
My Kallene didn\'t like her picture taken either. The last couple of years, I was after her to come with me and get our photo taken together for our kids and grandkids, but she always put it off. Now it will never happen.
Our oldest grandaughter likes taking pictures as was able to get some of Kallene these last 2 years.
She stopped by last week to show me an scrape book/picture album that she is makeing in Kallene\'s memory. I fell apart when she showed it to me. I\'m suppose to be the strong one for my kids and grandkids, but it is them that give me all the support.
Hang in there, it has to get better.
Dan
I believe that the up and down, the almost roller coaster ride of grief and loss is surprising I too feel that way about loss, like one moment I\'m ok and the next...not/
But we are her for you as much as we can be whether you are at the moment bereft and in unendurable pain or whether the day or moment is sunny. Saying a prayer right now that this will pass off and there will be more bright moments and happy memories
I\'m sorry you don\'t have many pictures to treasure. Craig was the family photographer, so there aren\'t a whole lot of him, either, but I have some of him alone or the two of us together that people took sometimes and I have his drivers license. Cherish what you have - all these tangible things hold our memories for us.
Hugs, Gail
