PHOTO what part of MEOW, don't you understand?//j grilled, its a beautiful day, sunny 80 degrees
Happy Easter!! i love easter! still eating (fettucine and mardarin orange sections on the side). its not a holiday without fettucine and without cake, not for me anyway. lol. had wine with breakfast, that's a new thing, but i think that has a church element to it. lol. j grilled chicken. we have improved (solely for health reasons (though it feels odd not having surf and turf for a holiday, which was normal holiday meal for us for about 18 years i think), though i like grilled chicken i am avoiding all forms of meat nowadays, including chicken. i used to have steak monthly even after blood pressure scares and now i'm afraid to do that as well. i would love to do lamb and i'm wondering if i'll actually not have lamb this year for easter week. it will be the first time ever, no lamb for easter, if i don't have it. wow. how about extra wine instead? lol.
the kids (who aren't kids anymore) are out on the boat fishing. surprised b is here, as he's not around much anymore. he's in gainesville a LOT - usually. i can count the number of times i saw b last year on one hand. lol. i mentioned this to one of the lawyers i used to know who was at the marina today, and he says, his brother, who is also a lawyer, used to visit with their parents ONCE per year, that's enough isn't it? he doesn't visit them at all and even a phone call from them, messes with his brain. so major tyranny going on there and school got him and his brother away from it. similar to jf with his own kids. amazing how common that is or was. j went down to the dock. we have perfect weather all day today. i'm hoping they'll catch something and we can have that as well. fresh grilled fish is actually fabulous. poor fish though. wonder what its like to be totally vegan.
fell asleep on the deck in the sunshine and then with the "furbabies" (never viewed them as that until recently, never even used the expression. and never viewed them as "friends" until last year, so i've come a long way with that. but i always viewed the pets as permanent and the rescues as worthy of permanent homes, daily food and daily fresh water, so at least i had that and feed the strays down.
went to br's to feed his colony late last night. saw c for breakfast and then j and the kids at mom and pop place for hoagies and their pizza which IS excellent, but has a thick crust. their hoagies are the top because everything is fresh, like off the vine or something. wow. never made it to sunrise service, though at least i considered it this year. i'm reading the layman's bible commentary, which talks about our culture misunderstanding the bible because our western culture reads everything as literal and its not written literally. its written as the oriental (eastern) culture writes, its figurative and trying to create a picture in your mind. david isn't 9 feet tall. they are trying to get you to picture someone VERY TALL. i love commentaries. its very real. the light in the tunnel kind of thing. they have a 10 a.m. service by us as well and the beach was MOBBED. lol. love it. even the dollar general is open over here today. when did that start happening? i guess the dollar general chain is totally pagan? lol.
was reading about summer camps for a again, and noticed it says one week isn't good enough for kids to make friends and can make them feel bad going only for a week?! wow. never knew that. as a kid, i went for a month every summer, but it was in two week (12 day sessions). if you pre-pay summer camp tuition at this time of year they give you a discount.
i didn't turn the heat on last night (it was 55 out) and woke up freezing around 5 a.m. and turned it on, so now i have the sniffles. grrrr. i took vitamin c and am making tea.

this looks normal when you write it, but its not aligning. grrrr. good ol ds.
Sounds to me like you had a great Easter. Weather here has again turned much warmer. I don\'t think we are having a Spring just winter and summer this year. Have a wonderful week.
It hasn\'t warmed up here at all. Jersey is still quite chilly!
I\'ve had lamb. It was never a staple in our family, but I did like the taste. I like deer as well. They\'re both a bit gamey, but I like them! Wine with breakfast. HMMMMMM! I remember when that was almost a daily thing when I lived down South in my twenties! LOL....I like wine, but not fer brekky!!
Glad you got see family for Easter. I sure would love to go to a sunrise service on the beach! It would be beautiful. We have them up here all the time. It\'s a wonderful tradition.
My dad\'s a preacher. I\'ve seen many a commentary. I believe the Bible to be true in it\'s entirety, but many interpretations are out there. I, personally, stick to the King James. I understand it. I get your point about people misunderstanding. A lot of people think that parts of the Bible are not true, when in reality, there are many parables. Stories. And they are referred to as such. I think people get into interpretation troubles when they take a verse or chapter out of context. I try hard not to discuss religion or politics with my friends. We are all so diverse. I just love to see people show their spiritual side..it\'s so important, IMHO!!!!
Ok, good for you that you had a good weekend, and enjoyed feeding \"furbabies\"!! I\'ve always called them that. And I totally love you for how you care for these wonderful little creatures.
Big hugs to you today!!
I wonder if you mean gyros for lamb. I like gyros, I eat them from time to time. We have that around here. I am not sure if I\'ve ever heard of lamb before. I had ham for Easter supper, it was sooo delicious. There was no candy or no hard boiled eggs at all. I was bummed. Oh well, it was worth it. I had a good time with the family. Take care
It sounds like you\'re doing okay and had a good Easter, in spite of changes that you are making to your diet and to your life. I hope you don\'t have a cold! Spring colds are awful. The weather is nicer, and you want to get outside, and you can\'t cuz you\'re sick! Ugh! Hopefully you are feeling better! *HUGS*
not great, just average. finished up with dinner at k\'s. he is also sick. hope its a bug and that is all. he has been having stomach troubles for a couple of weeks. he\'s supposed to stop all alcohol and he is still imbiding, he says wine doesn\'t upset his stomach but scotch does. i told him to make me the scotch drinks and i\'ll drink them and let him know what they taste like. lol.
its raining here today, most of the day actually. we need the rain though. i noticed it was very dry when i was weeding the lawn the other day.
rosy, we typically have leg of lamb roasted. we celebrate two easters, greek and regular, though this year its about the same time. i grew up with a lot of lamb for holidays and i wish i didn\'t like it so much. i rather be vegan or close to it. i like roasted lamb with brown lamb gravey and mashed potatoes. its my third favorite meal after broiled lobster tails with baked potatoe and salad and white wine or porterhouse stead medium well with scrambled eggs. i\'ve been trying to avoid all meat, so we mostly had chicken and salad and all that. some sweets as well. if you go to the stores now, its so great as all the chocolates are on sale, walmart is probably 75 percent off! another great thing about easter. but trying to avoid the chocolates as well because the sugar makes me dizzy and i know that is the pre-diabetes kicking in and that is scary.
the kids didn\'t mind the change of food. i also love grilled chicken so its fine. they kept talking about all the huge fish out there, but didn\'t see anyone bring in any. lol. lots of talk though.
our weather was nice and balmy up until right now. its been raining for a few hours today. we need it though.
