PHOTO: NORWAY IN WINTER, beautiful!//dinner at k's//br called on animals//guy at work was carjacked
Norway in winter. . .
love this photo! looks like sugar cookies. amazing this is real.
can't imagine living anywhere cold or with snow, but its beautiful!
i went to a sale for labor day, and loved it. had chinese out with js and a, shrimp and lobster sauce which is a fave of mine. was very careful and stopped to eat and drink and all that while shopping, no stress. during the day the store was swamped, i guess all people shop on labor day? i never celebrate that holiday, didn't even know anyone does. learned something real late in life here. lol. but at dinner time it was empty and even after dinner time it was pretty good.
the old guy that makes trouble at work was super nice lately, i think because he needs time off for vacation and for surgery on something....but lately on fridays the buzzer for incoming clients never goes off and have been missing that totally which is noticeable if bigger managers are here....discovered today, the buzzer is turned all the way down, that is why i wasn't hearing it. could be an accident, or it could be him? i won't say anything until i know for sure, but its the kind of thing he has done for the entire 3 years i have been supervisor and did it for 2 years to the supervisor before me (i used to think the former supervisor was paranoid). he is a menace. then he'll say oh oh i forgot, and sound really sincere, and its bulshit, because the buzzer is NEVER turned down, why would it be?
k's handyman got drunk and went on the roof and fell off, don't know if i wrote this yet or not. he fell off the roof and onto the windshield of rg's car. he didn't fall through. the glass forms like a web nowadays. very impressive glass, but still needs to be replaced. then he got pain pills from the hospital and drank with the pain pills and was in the yard by himself yelling in the middle of the night, howling like a wolf and making animal noises. the neighbors called the police. so k is not thrilled at the moment.
one of the guys in our office park was car-jacked, while parked in the street, by his episcopalean church which is kind of near my house down south! about ten minutes away. this happened DURING THE DAY! he was getting out of his car and three dark men attacked him. he tried to fight them, so he ended up beat up, and in the hospital! they got his wallet from his pants anyway, but not his car. omg!
went to br's late last night and was nervous at first because i kept thinking these car-jackings happen in clusters generally. the guy's mother kept saying that - what a friggin mess. but it was calm there. br finally called to check on the animals, he was ahead $20 wherever he was gambling. sounds like he wants to go to NASA with us, which would be an improvement on spending all spare time gambling.
had dinner at k's, salmon, veggies, wine, pina coladas. all good. and irish cream with coffee and mint ice cream. yum. and some kind of melt with cheese and tomato on high grain bread with sauces as an appetizer, also good. brought him 3 peach smoothie liquid in boxes (they are excellent, but he prefers the pina colada liquid mixes to make with rum, they didn't have it) i way prefer the peach smoothies - to make with vodka - they were on sale at the hope store. inspector morse was on finally, i'm a fan. and watched person of interest, also good. nice when they come up with good shows. have started reading mary higgins clark' memoir, called kitchen privileges, named after the sign for rooms at their home during the depression (the renters helped inspire her to write, because it was interesting having renters in one's home). So far the book is excellent. love her slang and her memories. as a kid, she lived off of pelham parkway in the bronx, which at the time, the area was rural - two blocks over from their house was a farm!! this is amazing, as its nyc! lol.

Sounds like you had a nice day! Crazy about the carjacking! I hope he\'s okay!
he had to go to the hospital. he has bruises and lacerations. he seems really pissed. he\'s not a big guy, but he\'s also young enough that it shouldn\'t give him a heart attack (literally). what a mess!
Crazy day. lol.
I love Mary Higgins Clark book\'s, but I\'ve never read her memoir. Did not know there was one out there.
Thanks for sharing.

That pic is beautiful! The houses are so brightly colored! In Sweden, houses are usually red or yellow, and that\'s about it. It\'s something about the cost of what they used for color in the paint years ago. I forget which was more expensive, red or yellow. My husband told me about it a long time, and my memory is failing me on the details. I assumed that Norway would be similar, since they are neighbors, but apparently not! *HUGS*
