Sooooo cute!
i have my font on 5 now - i need that to see without difficulty. kind of bored. we have heavy fog, had it last night as well. its also raining. weird weather for january. reading the book the help, which won awards, and has a lot of quotes and insights, but doubt i'll continue with it. its depressing. you can feel the violence and oppression of that time period as you read it. so its horrifying and the odd improper english also makes it difficult to get through - its written in a strange slang with strange expressions. can't believe people lived with all that prejudice and fear, with no real end in sight. the whites are awful, even at their own kids, there is violence - the mother is hitting the baby, and the baby is a year old. is she nuts or what? they hit as well as ignore their children and the children get most of their affection and real nurturing from their nanny/maid. they had a separate bathroom, even in small homes, for people of color and claim people of color carry different diseases. and this is written about the whites that are college educated sorority women. wth? totally bouncing off the walls weird stuff.
started another book about animals on the titanic and a larger dog that survived (most of the dogs that survived were small dogs carried onto lifeboats with their owner). much better reading. there was a dog show scheduled the week of the titanic sinking, (never knew that) the event was supposed to happen on the ship. so aboard were many pricey dogs locked in kennels when not being walked. someone unlocked and opened the kennels before the ship sank and freed the dogs. some smaller dogs got into lifeboats with their owners, one couple locked their small dog foufou in their cabin which is idiotic since it was small enough to board a lifeboat with them. they said people did dumb things like that because no one believed the ship would actually sink. only 4 of the first class women didn't survive the sinking, and one of them died because she refused to board a life boat without her st. Bernard. so she died with her dog. never realized how close the ship was to new york harbor when it went down, i always pictured it in the middle of nowhere -- or maybe it just looks close on the map, but it appears almost to new york, all the way from england. they also mention that allll ships have a ship's cat that lives on the ship. the cat's job is to keep out vermin. the titanic's cat had given birth to four kittens, when the ship docked the mother cat took herself and her four kittens off the ship, which was very odd, since the ship was her home. not having a cat on board a ship is viewed as bad luck.
also started a book called zen and the arc of healing, which tells people to go off your meds. the doctor says meds are emergency only, for one year at the most. find another way to heal your body. then he gives you a bunch of alternative cures.
ate fruit and green beans for dinner with pop corn and a little bit of left over prime rib, with chocolate biscotti and hot black coffee. no one is here. will go down to the marina if it stops raining.

Wow! What a bunch of cool new information about the Titanic. They had a cat on board!!?? COOL! So sad they lost these animals. I can actually understand people chosing to die with their pet. Don\'t think I would....but that\'s just me!!
Love the picture on your 5 font. SO cute!! xox
Our weather up here is nutz too! It\'s still warm actually. For the middle of January, this is nutz! xo
started enjoying the book the help, its only the first chapter that is heavily slang. then it switches to a first person narrative from a different character, who works for a bimbo who married well.
the women who run their town are former sorority girls, now dar, from lsu, ole miss and university of alabama. very southern. all with pokers up their butt. the bimbo\'s husband (also old money) says to his friend that going from the \"proper hypocrite women in town that he used to date\" to the bimbo, was like living in Antarctica and then moving to hawaii and he\'s never going back. they describe the bimbo as looking like marilyn monroe who was selling hot dogs at one of the football games. always in tight clothes with lots of cleavage in bright colors -- something the \"proper\" women never do. everything in this book, even if its funny, is also sad. wouldn\'t have wanted to be alive back then and living in mississippi. its very honest.
