PHOTO: CHRISTMAS TREE and wreath//grouchy and sleepy

i use this photo every year.  its not my tree.  just love the photo.
bought practical gifts so far.  trying to keep it to a minimum (i hope!).  christmas is not about presents at all, its the celebration of the philosophy of equality from jesus christ.  its a religious holiday.   take out the presents and that is what christmas is.
every year we end up doing adoptions over christmas and i'm hoping this year will be different.  if anything this season has become more work, which is weird, but i should be used to it.  as a kid i was in choir.  my grandfather is a minister and for him ALL holidays were just too much WORK and stress, that's what holidays are when you work in a church.  AFTER the holiday was the fun.  i still FEEL like that.  the 12 days of christmas is fun.  lots of sales.  no stress.  though nowadays in usa the decorations are down so quickly that it makes the holiday morbid.  i feel like stopping them and saying, what are you doing?  i keep wondering if they maintain the festivities more in the panhandle where they have the 12 days and they HAVE 3 kings day and a couple of MONTHS of mardi gras.
i'm sniffling.  i took a couple of days to recuperate after the walk of bethlehem.  we were caught in the rain during the tour and it was chilly out, not a good combo.  also my toilet is backed up downstairs.  grrrr.  even with the water OFF.  must be very unhealthy and will need a shop-vac for it.
was finally served at the house.  the guy was very nice and driving a very nice car.  must be a good job.  good to look into that.  process serving.  hmmmm?  the summons is for pm, not me.  i told w, i don't want to be involved in all this.  the processor says they notify because owners often don't tell everyone else and then they are stuck.  obama changed the law on that and you get more time if and when it comes down to that.  over $300,000 is owed on the house and there are zillions of houses around the 99,000 mark, by the ocean and in better shape.  people look at the house and think, wow, really nice two story house, huge deck (around 500 square feet of deck, will miss that).  decks by the ocean are popular here.  but there are sooo many things wrong.  downstairs is 110 electric, the gas lines leak and i had it turned off, the air handler upstairs doesn't work (even though i HATE a/c), the pipes are exposed (though painted over) and i hear the roof overhang in the back has troubles.  how much is that right there?
i'm worried about locating space for the animals.  rescue has changed in the last two years, because of the economy.  in the old days, i would adopt out EVERYTHING, and have more requests than animals.  i would go back to having my two cats and one small dog.  then we expanded rescue and the crippled cats stayed (of course) and over time things happen.  i think the deaths or the sadness of calls from people who are terminal, makes the rescue thing change....because the seriousness of life is in front of you, just like discovering HIDEOUS people like jodif and gregr etc., who kill animals...amazing people like that are walking around even after confessing to a judge.  what kind of judge lets people like that not go to jail for 150 years for what they did?  a different county or state and they are put away PERMANENTLY but here nothing happens and why is it always the mental ones who are "permitted" to walk away, new meds.  its absurd, even the crazies themselves laugh at the system because its so absurd that they aren't put away for crimes they commit.
our latest call is a woman with terminal cancer, more chemo and strong pain meds needed.  she is being realistic she told rn.  she has an 8 year old dog, a west highland i think, she wants to make sure he is okay first.  if she had a cat i would say, put in a cat door and keep the cat.  you have a better chance of beating cancer if you have a cat and a cat can let themselves out and jump a fence and get away if needed, if no one is there handling thing.
i told rn i am going to look at a 20 acre piece northwest of here but i won't live in it.  if i'm too far from water i get an anxiety attack.  if we have more than 20 animals in and its not organized in my book or economy is sluggish i get a panic attack.  never had any of this before.
my neck hurts and i'm grouchy and sleepy.

Sounds like there is a few repairs that need to be done. I know you like the water and need to be nearby it. But with the animals it seems you need a much larger place. It is a hard decision, also very hard to have multiple places to keep up with too.

I so agree with you on these mental people who are set free way to early with new meds etc and out patient therapy that they never go to.

Hope you feel better and get over those sniffles too. XXOO

I wish we would all remember what Christmas is all about, but unfortunately we don\'t. For most it is all about the shopping and I am guilty of that.........but I do know what the Day is all about.

Beautiful tree, btw. :-)

Merry Christmas to you my friend.
