Do you remember the 80's? There was another cover that was better than this one with yellow-colored lettering, but haven't seen it. -- Just found it!
And before this one, ones of Kim Alexis, her ad where she is wearing pearls (except it only looks like pearls from far away, those are actually the white straps from her top). That was the standard. lol. If i can find the other cover and ad i'll post the photos. I used to have the actual magazine saved because it epitomized the time.
I'm reading Brooke's memoir, signed copy it says -- which is mostly about her mother who was her manager. its actually good. the smutty stuff about her mom makes it interesting and you would never guess because they lived in good areas and she attended good private schools. Her mother was from Newark, NJ.

i had put together a collage of cut outs from euopean and american fashion magazines, that i hung up on my closet door when i first got back from studying abroad for a year, at the end of 1987. it was very edgey. six months later after softening from being in usa again which felt like a giant woods compared to europe when i first got back, i couldn\'t have put one together that was identical to it even if i wanted to. the original was stolen by kent and then destroyed by his nephew joed after k put it in the garbage at their house and before it could be retrieved. we have never figured out why he stole it. sooooooo weird. always weird actually. i said to him, since your step daughter and step son aren\'t here (to blame for the theft) who are you going to blame. if anything this man was weirder than ever. what a surprise. it was also the same time he was driving people to flea markets (his insistance) and then leaving them there to find another way back. no reason. they didn\'t even want to be there. what the hell is that? he used to steal from his siblings his entire life, especially if he found out they were interviewing somewhere, he\'d steal all their clothing. obviously jealousy, but still totallllly sick. either check in to an asylum and stay there or commit suicide if you aren\'t going to take your meds for your mental disorders, but don\'t keep showing up and bothering people. totally gross. his niece accused her brother of purposely pouring old sauce on the collage that she was trying to save from the garbage and her uncle stood there saying, you said you didn\'t want it and she is crying saying why did you steal it. what a life. why bother? so sad she never got away from all of them. they are repulsive people.
then he had the nerve to ask me if i was going to make another collage (it was going to be submitted into a magazine contest), i said why bother, you\'ll just destroy it anyway. so his girlfriend says, well, at least you know that now. and i\'m like that was the whole point of being here at all actually, though didn\'t expect my bank account to be wiped out as soon as i got here. she says, well there is more. he\'ll give you the other one. and he gets furious and says, no i won\'t. to this day, we haven\'t got his name off one of the accounts that was supposed to be released to me from my work in the arts as a kid. there are a few of those, and another that an uncle had transferred into something untraceable through his son. he argues, you don\'t need it. you married well. and i\'m like, its mine. its my money that i earned it doesn\'t belong to you. kent brother died years ago, and to this day, he still has his brother\'s money from the arts as well. hmmm, he stole the money when his brother made the mistake of trusting him when he was 13 and kent was 18. then he let kent do his taxes. HUGE mistake. until he was around 40. the rest of it is even more hideous. he was being poisoned by kent and his sister v and later on his girlfriend b. none of it ever stopped. its so sad that its pitiful. and that is alllll from jealousy. unbelieveable. like captive in your own family or own home, he really should have moved far far away as a teenager and been done with it and i\'ll never understand why he didn\'t. at least by age 20, they were getting at him less back then. when he was 40 and his girlfriend (later wife) started poisoning him it was too late and all she wanted was his money, which hopefully she never got - though his family shouldn\'t have it either every one of them knew what was going on.
kim alexis supports mitt romney. let me guess she is a fundamentalist christian ... most artists are liberals
so i talk to my cousin (no blood) and she says, kent brought it up there and i mentioned that i love that collage and was going to get the keys to kent\'s car because joed said it bothered him to look at it. wth? so when i went to get the keys joed threw it in the garbage and poured sauce on it. it was no accident. she says if i didn\'t \"love\" it he wouldn\'t do that maybe, but anything that someone loves he goes after. total psychopath.
when they found out it was for a contest and worth money if it won. joed\'s mother called up to say she wanted the money that the collage may have won if it was entered in the contest since it was brought to her house. total werido as always. i said to her you mean STOLEN and brought to your house which would make you the receipt of stolen goods and you go to jail. the woman is totally freaking out. talk about a completely messed up group of people, these would be it. so then his brother bobd shows up, he lives 3 hours from kent\'s house so you are talking completely strange and he acts like a gangster and says he is here for his mother\'s money. for what? the collage. your brother threw the collage in the garbage and poured sauce on it, he said he hated that thing and hated looking at it. ask your brother for the money. on and on. it doesn\'t belong to them to begin with. i told v-the cousin, your family is an embarrassment and she says she knows, but its from her mother and then it goes back to, why live there. she ended up divorced ten years later because of her family as in her mother and her mother\'s patsies, which are her two eldest sons and sometimes the daughter herself. her other two brothers were smart and moved away. they used to visit once per year but i think that ended after the first fifteen years, it was like enough of the madness. lol.
then she tells me when she was planning her wedding her brother joed along with kent both offered to walk her down the aisle because her father is dead (the going thing in their family is the father wanted to die, it was the only way out. lol. - they say this to the mother\'s face actually, and it becomes a thing, like clockwork and on cue, pressing all buttons and same reaction every time from the mother) the cousin says she told them both no and opted to let her mother walk her down the aisle and i am thinking, are you nuts? your mother is a total asshole, why in the world would you involve her at all. the entire wedding was her mother\'s choices and even though she made a deal with the two eldest brothers, kent and her mother to LEAVE the reception after the dinner before they ruin things, instead they brought their families home and then returned to the reception. and its like, its her WEDDING and she asked you not to be here, you had a deal and you pull this? un-real. she should have eloped. but then her mother wouldn\'t have been able to have her personal dream wedding and live it through her daughter. this is the same wedding where they attacked people in the parking lot INCLUDING the two 40 year old brothers along with kent\'s 23 year old son, attacking a 15 year old girl in the parking lot who happened to be the baby sister of a former friend of the 23 year old who\'s brother the 23 year old raped along with joec ten years before that when that boy was about ten years old. when i say total weirdos i mean TOTAL weirdos. (but they all have \"executive\" jobs except for joed, he never does and by now he is too old to attempt much of anything as far as training and school goes, i think he\'s 65.
