PHOTO: BE THE PERSON YOUR DOG THINKS YOU ARE//general update
love this poster - really makes you think twice - i want to hang this one up, but rarely do that at this office ever since the old man started working here, causing trouble alllll the time.
i'm bored as usual. ever since the doctor made me "take it easy" "pace myself" "go straight home" i'm discovering just how boring that kind of life is. wth? i'm stunned people live like this their entire lives? no wonder so many are bitter, its from boredom! lol. the "pace myself" part, i need. wow! i'm old. i learned in the passed few months, if i feel grouchy its not just lack of sleep, its also stress from doing too much. then i'll push the day's agenda to a different day.
one big thing per day, isn't even okay now. its one big thing every OTHER day. the "challenge" of seeing how much i can get done in one day, isn't there anymore. my blood pressure goes up from it and my body goes into survival mode to let itself rest, so all that have a safe day or safe holiday, makes sense now. safety first. did they even used to say that long ago? don't remember much of that.
headed to the marina for a bit. there is a new club on the beach, but haven't had the interest to go there yet - it looks mostly young and the other club is more ageless. we went to the shops way south of here while on vacation, its a "family" area so its backward, and playing beach boys music outdoors - it was fun and sweet, but its like, since when do i like the beachboys? nowadays, i seem to like any music that doesn't make my blood pressure go up. lol.
in the 70's and 80's every street around this beach, had bands and clubs. not so anymore. my friend who used to be a radio dj says, dj's aren't real anymore either. its a computer playing the songs, that is why it all sounds the same and its so repetitive. even the shows are never live they are pre-recorded. creepy. the big topic recently is government watching us on our computers through the cameras and satellites in the sky....and cyber bullying of teens. she says, her niece goes through drama all the time, bad enough to deal with the LIVE crap at one's highschool, why risk being tracked down from internet and someone jealous of your photos, trying to make trouble for you. happens more at public schools than private religious schools but it still happens. what a mess it all is. wouldn't want to be young now - there's no privacy. but the young of today wouldn't have wanted to be young as we were then. i think the late 90's was a good balance and now is just too techy.
also saw tna, have a feeling she already told me this, but her daughter that was in the military and married to a military guy is living with them again and her baby because he cheated on her THREE times, went to marriage counselling, didn't do any good, didn't get a job after military for six years either. they are officially divorced. her other daughter is either a senior or in college now. both are doing health professions, occupational therapy and something else (don't remember) one of them sleeps all day (hope she is partying all night or working all night and its not depression). nice of tna to let her live at their house but you can tell she is concerned about it. busy household. her daughter is 26 now i think or 24? she has so much on her shoulders. she also supports her niece's household because tna's father who is schizophrenic AND her mother (they are divorced for over 20 years) both live at the niece's house.

I think the late 90\'s/early 2000\'s were good years. High school years for me... I was a bully, kinda back then. I would just pick on boys I liked. I still nag Geo sometimes for things he does. He likes it lol. I don\'t hurt him or anything. But it was a time where you still had privacy, but had people you could connect with online.
I love the poster and I agree- it does make you think twice. Life can get boring if you never take time out to do anything besides work, sleep, eat, etc. I often find myself bored, especially at work where most of the time I\'m in a cubicle of some sort starting at security cameras all day. =/ But I like the pay so I suck it up. lol. I\'m glad you are pacing yourself now and its going well for you doing that. I also need to learn to do this. Stress and lack of sleep can DEFF make someone grouchy. I love music. I think its the only thing that keeps me sane anymore. haha. And I agree. I grew up in the 90\'s (1991 baby) and I think it was the best time to grow up. You could still go outside and play with your friend but yes, we did have some technology. Nowadays you have technology everywhere you turn. It\'s crazy. About the government spying on people through the cameras in our laptops, phones, etc. Its true. They\'ve been doing it for a while. They\'ve just finally came out and said it now. Honestly, there is no privacy in the world anymore. I do wish kids would learn how to play outside instead of on video games and such though. But I guess its up to the parent\'s to raise them and to each their own on the way they do it.
i hear they are tracking us through our credit cards as well. and when a supermarket or store asks for personal information, its better to make up what you reply and then pay cash. but i also heard they want to do away with cash and only have cards that people pay on (to track us somemore). they also want to put microchips inside children like they do with animals. wtf? and will they take them out later on, i doubt it. so its not for children, its for everyone. creepy.
I soo loved the poster!
So sorry you are bored.....but you really should take it easy......your health does come first. If you don\'t take care of you, you can\'t take care of them. :-(
I agree, I would NEVER want to be a kid these days. The cyber-bullying is out of control. Very scary for our kids. What will it be like in 10 years?
There are 2 sides to the information highway, as to most things.
When I was my grandkids\' age, when my daughters were their age, we had to look stuff up in the encyclopedias at the library. Now you can get so much knowledge on any subject and see actual videos instead of photos or hand drawn pictures. I love that.
this is tna, she says, he was a gooooood father. he took them fishing all the time and spent a LOT of quality time with them, but he\'s crazy. he is crazy for real. he is schizophrenic. she says he is a very smart man and always was and then something went wrong with the wiring. she handles it. but her sister is afraid of it and she thinks her sister is afraid of it because TNA thinks her sister is afraid of catching it or that she already has it because schizophrenia is genetic. i\'m actually with the sister on that one. tna has two daughters, it doesn\'t OCCUR to her that all of them could end up with it? i think she thinks because she has so many health issues so young, like stroke in her 30\'s, hysterectomy in her 20\'s, that she won\'t live to see it in herself, if it happens anyway. i also think she has been working double the work load for her age bracket, even as a young teen, that the work and stress of working sooooo much is making her ill.
not working at a very young age, turns people into assholes for life. but working too much is too hard on the body physically. BALANCE.
have a feeling tna told me that story SEVERAL times and i always ask the same questions AND never recall one word of it. hopefully writing this will help me remember. i do the same thing with jamie at the pet store, i tell her about nursing 101, every time she tells me she is a nursing major and where she attends school. and i always ask the same questions. lol. the poor things. i really have no idea how to fix the memory thing though. lol.
you know its funny, ten years ago, tna was super proud of her girls. both good students, no troubles yet. perky about it. five years ago, still perky, honor student and other married. good so far. i remember when she and isb had daughters marrying too young, and having babies too young. tna was still perky, but isb was already at risk because of her daughter (who is in a second marriage now to a guy 15 years older than her with 3 step children and her own child and one with him. wth and in her 20\'s!) won\'t say anything right now. tna, was still smiling though. fast forward just a few more years and you have today. this is why people \"suddenly\" age so much. in south florida you rarely see early marriage. everyone marries in their late 20\'s or 31, like the prince, that is a popular age....when they are ready to have kids....i remember when i married er and that was too young really, i changed my name and then went through a NIGHTMARE trying to get it back to normal. and that was without going through all kinds of property crap. it teaches you not to change anything. i was looking at an old friend\'s recently SHE HAS FOUR LAST NAMES she just kept adding on! who the hell does that? and WHY do that? doesn\'t it feel creepy? secretive is such an easier life. out of sight, out of mind. almost.
