yes, that is BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN circa 1975 playing pinball, i think that is at the stone pony (club in asbury park, nj) its still there. looks like the area toward the back, but not sure. what a trip?! [headtrip] lol.
RIP HUGHIE 2000 - 2013
e called to let me know that she had hughie put down 3 weeks ago. grrrr. how about call me when he is ill, passing blood in urine, and let me know you don't want to nurse him, even though he was still eating well, and i'll do it.
she says she tried antibiotics and the vet wanted to put him on iv's and she said no. he was eating and losing weight and had blood in his urine. (he's 13, let him die on his own, if he's not in pain WHY kill him!!) grrrrrr.
e says, she wasn't sure i was still doing rescue. she uses this excuse everytime she kills, its a pattern with her. she does the right thing only half the time at best and there is no reason for that kind of behavior when she knows there is an alternative. e doesn't know that i know about her stealing checks yet. she also had 9 people die since february of people she knows and dustin's father (her step daughter's husband) died 2/15 which is why dustin is doing such a crap job showing up for the lawn here. he lives around an hour west of here, ever since his father got sick, so why not just focus on doing lawn jobs where he lives.
i told her i already have someone else anyway. she says she was mostly calling just to say hi, but i've been avoiding that bunch ever since i found out about e stealing checks (including mine!) and dustin going on about e lying all the time - even about simple little things. why do that? it causes so much chaos.
HUGHIE was a mainecoone huge cat with a bobbed tail. when he first showed up everyone thought he was a bobcat (i've seen bobcat's since then, they don't look anything like hughie). i was afraid of him at first, even though we fed him and then one day he started playing with my keys. i realized he was friendly and brought him to the house and started feeding him outside. when we got timmy, who was a bottlefeed, i thought roxanne would take care of the tiny kitty, as her son was missing (the woman who lived behind us on the mainland took him!! and still has him!! and several years later her daughter stole 3 of our small dogs, one of which i never got back to this day! wth?! the neighborhood said that daughter had been breaking into people's yards and stealing people's animals since she was a kid, at the time that she went after our dogs, she was IN THER 40's, there is NO EXCUSE for that behavior!! but there are criminals everywhere, just because her parents live on the next street, doesn't make this woman "not a criminal." it infuriates me and she should have paid damages money for all the hell she put us through, plus small dogs cost a few hundred dollars, even more if pregnant).
Hughie kind of adopted timmy and would clean him up and guard him from other cats. hughie to the rescue kind of thing. it was amazing and went on for a very long time (timmy is a coward even to this day! lol. probably too spoiled. he did great in cat shows when under age two though, and then he decided he didn't like cat shows anymore and would put his back to the judges. lol.) e's mother lived next door and started feeding hughie SHRIMP which obviously i can't compete with that. so hughie started living at her house and i just let it go, until one day i found him in our yard almost dead. he had been laying by the hose and bucket for a couple of days and i figured he was sleeping. that was 2004. e and her mother KNEW hughie was injured so put him outside and he came over by us and just went to sleep. when i walked over to say hi to him and picked him up, his entire body was LIMP! it looked like his ear had been caught in a trap. i bottlefed him for about a MONTH forcing fluids into him, and kmr formula and rebound and finally he came around. it took a very long time though and i think i annoyed him.
every couple of hours there i was. he'd give me this look like, just let me die. and i was like, nope, you are going to live. lol. i think he was surprised actually. animals get a "smell of death" on them when they are dying. its actually dehydration that a person is smelling. you need to get fluids into them hourly, syringe fed if they can't lap on their own, and when that ill/dehydrated they often can't, just from "confusion" from the dehydration alone. i did the same thing for a cat named jon, in 2001 that my friend up north adopted from us. turned out to be a beautiful cat, long necked all that and white mostly, but when i was bringing that one around, it was so messed up it looked like a opposum coloring. it was all dirt and i sponge bathed it for DAYS until it got beautiful. everyone said not to help that one as well. turned out beautiful, smart, healthy eventually and devoted. it went for walks with us, but in the beginnin it was frail and my two cats at the time rocketcat and her son, would try to bully jon. terrible! they used to do that. join forces and bully, and those two were TINY cats and acted like that!
hughie survived in 2004, and e's mother started feeding again. never offered money for his spay and neuter and only a $20 toward his medical (the rebound and formula ALONE are more than that). whatever. i was already running my rescue, so i figured, he'll get more attention there. HOWEVER, how about LET ME KNOW if the animal is injured so i can DO SOMETHING. i had no idea. they really just let it back outside to die, in my opinion. shocking. e's mother lived next door and fed a small colony of cats over there for around 45 years i think she said. that whole area was real big with rescue. when her mother became ill she wanted hughie buried with her and i was furious. then she changed her mind because she said hughie was keeping her alive by BITING her when she was sleeping and waking her up. her mother was in her 90's and made it to age 100, she believes because hughie kept waking her up before she would go down and die. animals are amazing.
i would think e would have more respect for the animal just for keeping her beloved mother alive all those extra years. e kept hughie with her other pets and brought him to live at her house after her mother died a few years ago. everytime e pulls one of these shitty things and its a pattern with her it pisses me off all over again. i mentioned this to joa and she says, its not dementia, e has done stuff like that her entire life. she doesn't have proper boundaries when it comes to decency. e's argument would be that the men in her family hunt .... hunt or are predators? the check scams of e, are just HER, the lying about petty things alllll the time, is also HER. just her. she couldn't even work in her mother's beauty shop because she can't be trusted around a cash register. wth?
RIP HUGHIE!! approximately 2000 - 2013, i always missed him - c u soon!! he was a gentle giant.

Rest in peace Hughie. What a lousy way for e to be. I had a little girl neighbor who would walk in my farm and steal chickens and things . I had to start locking things down .
one of the kittens went out the window and is hiding at a neighbor down the road. amazing every time this happens. its a bigger kitten (over five months), so its okay, they land on their feet even though its a second story window. amazes me everytime something like that happens!
ubu didn\'t show up until afternoon for breakfast. i freak out. i see why people stop the pets and even friends thing after a while. i get depressed every time there is a death and its like, you get tired of living things dying around you, its so draining. having a ice cold attitude like e does, isn\'t an answer either, just like being oblivious, which is what i was before i started doing rescue on a large scale (100 rescue animals per year) -- oblivious isn\'t the answer either. i wish they would teach animal care in primary school like they did 100 years ago. no animal care and no civics is taught and then they wonder why our country is so violent and unfeeling. wth?
