journal readers - loose/ or short read. read one paragraph and comment on that one paragraph. this is legit. its called a loose read when you go to a university.
skimmers - read the first and last sentence of each paragraph and try to comment from there. (i know in school this doesn't quite work, have no idea if it works on here.)

the cheats:
those who read others comments on a journal and comment on the comments. this is NOT legit. its actually a form of bullying.
those who read the title of the journal and then comment according to the title. this is totalllly not legit. why comment at all? why not just put an x there to show you went to the page, and leave it like that, otherwise you are commenting on your own "fantasy" of what you believe "may" have been written in your own personal fantasyland, but not the actual journal.

those who come onto ds and journal but don't read the journals of others too much - if at all.
those who come onto ds and play the group games most of the time and get to know others via the games and for their own entertainment.
those who attend support groups on ds and are here for real help and stay focused on that help.

There was a really heavy fog yesterday - I mean maximum density - but idiots refuse to slow down for it. The two bodies were discovered hours after the first responders arrived. Sad.
Horrible accident. Much Compassion for everyone that was affected/involved in this accident.

I totally agree with the assesment of readers of journals and how comments are made. I am a GOOD friend! I am here to help and be helped. I read journals through before commenting. Ya know one way to tell that a person is just randomly throwing out hugs? (this really ticks me off) and it tells me that this person (whoever and there are many)...never read my journal before sending a \"happy\" hug. Let\'s just say I just journaled a teary, sad journal about having to put down my pet. Then I get a hug from somebody saying \"hey, ho, have a great day!\" OBVIOUSLY, they didn\'t read my journal or my status. WAKE UP PEOPLE! This is a support group. I rid myself of people like that. I\'m a real friend. I want real friends too!!
Such a Horrible Accident. Loved your words about DS and the different personalities on here. I think I only have 2 friends that email me from DS as they have such a difficult time getting on most of the time.
you know lee, i would think the MONEY aspect of ds being popular and advertisers wanting to advertise here, would make ds WANT TO FIX their site. i was shocked to discover MANY people have had big troubles with ds losing info and banning them and getting thrown off, since 2008! in FOUR YEARS of time ds can\'t fix it?
yeah, i know darla. when i was being stalked, one of the 3 stalkers didn\'t seem to know ANYTHING about me at all. like she never read my profile. so whatever was buggin her, was all in her own brain. really creepy.
bear, i think the article said the same thing, fog caused the accident. they should have closed the road until it lifted. i bet they\'ll make a movie out of it, 100 cars must be some kind of a record for a pile up?
It was a horrible accident. I think we usually think of CA with traffic accident\'s because of the fog. It was especially sad because it was on Thanksgiving.
My friend called as we were headed to Houston to give us a heads up about the I-10 wreck. Usually we would be headed that way to the Ranch, I-10 West, but we were not going that way as we were going to our Daughter\'s home in Tomball this year.
I had to smile at your DS 8 personality types. I never thought about it because I don\'t write one but I do understand where you are coming from.
There have been times when the print of some journal\'s have been soooo small that I just could not read it. And I did let a friend know.
When there is a very long journal without ANY paragraph\'s they are often difficult to read. And that goes for Discussion topics and Journal\'s.

i think i was one of your friends with bad print. i went to 2 font because it appears larger since ds started \"working on fixing this site.\" however, when i saw my journal on a different computer, i couldn\'t read a word of it either. had to make the whole screen larger with the percentage number in the lower right corner. really wish they would fix this site.
