pet peeve

I was contacted by my son's former counselor, asking me if my husband and I would present our program to some school guidance counselors next month.  Initially, I wasn't sure if we could do it, since I hadn't checked with my husband.  He said he'd be happy to so I responded with a few questions to the counselor.  One important question was when would we need to do this, as we need time to prepare.  No response.  So I wait a week and asked one more time - nothing.  A simple "We've changed our minds" or "I'll get back to you when I know" would have taken 2 seconds.  I understand this guy is busy but ...... before that he texted me and I find that that takes longer and doesn't offer nearly as much information as it would if we had had a 1 minute conversation.  It is a pet peeve of mine.  I understand that he's busy but why did he ask me in the first place?  If or when he does respond -- depending on the time frame -- we will probably have to say no. Hopefully, they either found someone else or will be able to to, because this message we've shared is too important to leave out.    I've been exposed to the swine flu... obviously .. I hope I don't get it - especially since we're heading toward Thanksgiving!  I will know by then.  At least I have some time before we leave....
