Personal contact with pizza delivery guy
Does it count as "personal contact" when you speak with the pizza delivery man? Yeah, I didn't think so. Although, on the bright side, I seem to see the same guy often and he's a really nice, older man.
My contact with work is online. I do editing and I have limited all contact to emails/texts, probably by design. I'm "supposed" to be working on progress toward a new job, one where I leave the house and have social interaction, build friendships, and return to my old career world of 8-5 type routine job. Through experience, I've learning "working from home" does not help with depression. It only increases loneliness. However, now, the depression has strangled the motivation out of me and my efforts to job search have come to a halt.
I need help with Facebook. I've never been a fan. I need to update my page, a necessary career element in searching for a new job in my field. Sadly, I haven't used FB in so long that I have no idea how to use all the features, buttons, icons, etc. I'm willing to pay someone to help me. I just need to get the page updated.
Trying to decide how I can invent something that will wake me up in the morning, dump my body into the shower, and then I'll get dressed and be able to act like a normal person. If anyone already has one of those, please contact. I'm in the market for one. My fear of the shower astounds me. I have no idea how any of this happened. Depression manifests itself in so many ways. I can't understand it.
Perhaps I should burn all my bathrobes???? ha.
I wish everyone the best. I'm trying to make sure my attitude at work is not compromised by depression. I like helping people and enjoy treating others decently and with respect. A few months ago, this older guy.....who can be moody....was less than helpful....and suddenly this week, needed my help with the same situation. I wrote a couple email responses to him. I remember reading them over and over to try and make sure they did not sound "spiteful." I wanted to "act better" than he did and be helpful unlike he had been to me although I could tell my "attitude" was less than. I ended up helping, after another asked for the request (I made things difficult!), and felt bad. That's not the right thing to do. I know better.
Tomorrow, I plan to send him a funny joke about rednecks (he is one and he'll enjoy this I believe) and write some sort of response about "sorry for the attitude." He acts like this on a regular basis and gets away with it. I wanted to act professional. I blew it. Although I provided him with what he needed, I made it difficult. Wrong.
Depression can impact a lot of things. It can turn perfectly professional people into 2-year-olds! ugh.
