Inspiring to me anyway, I came across a quotation by Missionary Walter Elliott about perserverance.  "Perserverance is not a long race; it is many short races one after another."  It was enough to make me think about the really rough times in my life when the task at hand seemed to be completely overwhelming.  It seems to apply to  the physical, spiritual and emotional.  One day I was sitting in the back of a pick up, leaning on a shovel and thinking there was no way I had the strength to empty the pieces of dry wall into the dump site.  I decided then to just clear 1/8th of the truck bed.  That done, I waited and tried for another, etc.  When the bed was cleared I adapted the attitude to finish the building of my home.  Then to my life.
During my latest life test, a lot of people have said wonderful defining things about me.  I don't take too much stock in it.  I mean you have to do what you have to do.  I always have known I have a stubborn streak a mile wide but now I can call it "Perserverance" I think that sounds better.
