people in my babys room
I wish people would respect my baby girls stuff. I'm letting my mom live here for a month until she can get her transportation back, (she lives out of town but works here in Portland), and she's sleeping in my old nursery where there's a spare bed. Now, I know she has no room to move around, but there's a TV and enough room for ehr clothes and a big house where she can do whatever she wants. But everytime she comes over here she messes with my baby's stuff. She actually took the padding and cover off our new carseat and tried to sew a different one on, but with no padding, it was totally ruined.
On top of that, she just empties the closet and goes through Sophia's stuff and moves the toys and piles swings and baby seats in the crib, and I'm so scared that she's going to break something. I know maybe i shouldn't be so attached to her stuff, but I am and i can't help it it's too soon.
See, what you gotta understand is that my mom and I don't get along for a few reasons, mainly cause she really made my childhood hard in a lot of ways. We were really poor, and she would take the few clothes that i did have and cut them up or throw them away cause ... actually, i still don't know why she did that. So she just acts like shes entitled to move my furniture around and ignore it when i ask her to stay out of my room and not take my clothes, i mean now, and i'm a grown woman i shouldn't have to ask people to leave my belongings alone in my own house!
But even my sister and friends do that, they just leave a mess in there if they use the crib to put their baby down for a nap and it pisses me off. Why can't they have a little respect and see that its not just stuff to me, its all i have left of my baby girl. I would move it all but first of all i don't think i should have to hide stuff in my own house because people have no respect, and second theres nowhere to put it all anyway, third i don't think I'm even close to being emotionally ready to even move her stuff, its like admitting that she's really gone and thats why it hurts so much when my mom messes with it and she acts like i'm crazy.
I don't want to kick out my mom, and I don't want to make her feel unwelcome but I don't know how to say it without making her get all defensive, but where she will still understand that the only way she can live here is if she respects my boundaries. I DON'T KNOW.

I am right there with you, I hate when other people touch Ty\'s things. I always make sure that no one is. I think it\'s because that\'s all we have left of our babies physically and we feel we have to protect it like we were protecting our babies. I know a lot of other angel mommies feel this way. Your not crazy at all, you are being a protective mother like you should be. Hugs.
