People can be so hostile.

Ugh,

Tried joing a Christian social networking site just to get to know people. However, posted a message regarding a Christian show I like, and someone shortly sent me a lecture message sbpbut my comment. Which I can understand, people deserve their own opinions. I might have phrased my comment wrong and set them off. I tried posting a clarfication coment stating how I felt. But when I checked to see if the reply went through, I saw the person had sent another comment. The went on a side rant of how bad women had it back during the Biblical times (which they did), but it did not seem appropriate for the comment I made.

I was just commenting on a show I like, nothing more. The show is pretty good (in my opinion), and it does not treat women negatively. This person who sent be two different, lengthly, replies lecturing me in all caps just came across as being hostle. And since I was still trying out the site, my entire viewpoint of it has been soured and I am not wanting to go back to it again.

Why do people act like this? Don't they know how their attitudes are affecting others?

Well, whatever. God please take care of them, ultimately their in your hands.

I have known people like your ranter. The problem is not you or even what you may have said. They have something missing in their life. This hole causes them pain and you know the saying misery loves company. They lash out against anything that brings joy or peace to others because it reminds them just how much they are hurting.
I would encourage you to stay in the group. Don't let that one person ruin what could be something very meaningful in your life.

How you deal with that person is going to depend on where you are and what you are willing to do. If you are in a place that you might be able to help them then I would suggest commenting back something like, "I see that this is very upsetting to you. I hope that I didn't stir up any bad memories. If I did I apologize as that wasn't my intent at all. If you need someone to talk to, please, let me know." If you are not in a place that you feel that you can befriend them and try to help then I would suggest blocking them. Before you decide you need to honestly look at where you are and what is best for you.

The main thing to remember is that you joined this site because you felt it had something to offer you. Don't let one hurting person take that from you.

True, thanks guys.

To be honest I was just looking for a Christian group I could hang out with online; basically an alternative to facebook. I was just trying it out, and this happened. To me it is like looking for a home Church; you just got to keep looking until you find the right place. This was just the first one I found.
