peaceful at home

I am really relaxed for the first time since......???  It's been so long I forgot.  Having my upbeat, happy-go-lucky oldest son home has been sooo wonderful.  He's just a breath of fresh air.  He's actually recovering from being sick so he's missed the last two days of work, but even sick he's great to be around.  We have our parent information meeting at the treatment center and our oldest might join us because following the class..... we have an hour and a half break before we can visit T.  T mentioned to my husband that he might have a 4 hour break from the center.  He can't go home but can leave the facility with us.  Four hours?  What in the heck are we going to do?  I'm thinking movies.  It's a thought.  We do have a grad party to go later and it's in that direction, which is why oldest might come with us.  He's the one who wants to go to this grad party.  The boy who is graduating had an older brother that was very close to my oldest.  I say HAD because he passed away a month before starting high school.  My oldest was devastated, to say the least.  It took a toll on him which is why (rather than choosing the drug route) he became even more spiritual than he had been.  He said that his friend's sudden death had a huge impact on him.  My oldest so admired this boy....his love of life and his kindness.  He was a very special boy......very positive and always laughing.  This boy knew his life expectancy was going to be shortened (possibly 40 years) but no one expected at 15 he would be gone.  No one but family members and few close friends (I knew) that he had any problems.  It was sooo sad.  So this is why my oldest wants to go to see his friend's family.   Oldest is now contemplating whether we will go or  not.....because he'll have to get up early, go to a 2  hour class, wait a few hours, and then visit T for 4 hours before the party.......  Is it worth it?  Only he can tell us that....

Lunch and a movie and just some hanging out listening to him talk about his experiences (as he volunteers info) may be a good thing! Something neutral and non judgmental. However, there\'s no rule that you have to spend 4 hours......

Does the oldest want to see the youngest? If not, hopefully he can ride separately to see his friend\'s family.

Hopefully both visits will go well. Take Care!!!
