peaceful and calm Christmas
Even though I was super busy on Christmas eve, shopping at the last minute through pouring rainand peaks of snow, I kept my temper. I visited mymom and sister and brother on Christmas eve andwe had a nice time. It was real hard because it isthe first Christmas without our dad, he died in Juneof this year. We talked about my dad's strength andcourageousness and I encouraged all of us to let thesesame qualities out in ourselves and confront things in thesame way.Christmas Day the children opened gifts from Santa andfrom us. They seemed very happy and did not complainabout the gifts this year. I became fustrated sometimesthroughout the day but I was able to express myself in acontrolled way and keep the peace. We were blessed with a nice dinner and evening,I slept like a baby last night!!!wishing peace and happiness for all, Ida.

That talk must have felt pretty good as a sort of healthy closure perhaps. And what a wonderful expression of love and thankfulness you are showing you father by wanting to live on using the lessons he taught you!! I think it sounds like you had a good Christmas and always choosing to keep peace rule in your mind is a great and powerful thing! You are inspiring! My Christmas Eve I woke up and worked from 4AM to 4PM, making pies then took a break to power shop at the pharmacy stores and grocery shopping at Target. Then I returned to work to assemble a to go order for 18 Turkey Dinners with appetizers and pies and washed dishes for the next two hours. Then I went home and wrapped all the gifts and put the groceries away. I put the presents under the tree and took a nap around 2AM. The kids woke up at 6AM and were super excited. It is such a pure joy to watch my children open gifts. They all had that one important gift that they hinted about for the last 2 months and I was able to get them. I felt like a Super mom!!!! Tommorrow I will be going to my sisters house and my nieces and nephews will all be there. So...like 19 kids under 18 years old. My brother came on Thanksgiving and I hope he will make it again. I don\'t feel so alienated when he is there. My sisters are both home makers and have alot of kids and are devout church members and like cooking and cleaning during the holidays. I usually am just getting off a 13 hour shift at work and am done, ya know. I used to feel guilty but now I know they truly enjoy it and they bond and I am NOT at all like them in one bit. They both are like my mother in many ways and I am alot like my Dad instead. Well, enough with me babbling on!!! Hehehe...
Strength and courage - wonderful resources to draw on and get us through our down and difficult times. I\'m so glad you had a lovely Christmas day, and felt the peace and you were calm and strong when you needed to be.
Best wishes to you, and peace and love for a healthy and happy new year :-)
xx
A rich conversation about strenght and courage...what a gift!
i am not surre what you mean when you say express yourself in a controlled way.
What is an uncontrolled expression and what is a controled expression?
I am thinking you mean that you couldn\'t get rid of the frustration .
Most of the time, when i am frustrated andit will nt go I just decide I am frustrated and at some point I will blow one way or another and i attempt to find the right space for the melt down.
I interpret your christmas as being abundant with love and caring. Peace, pageo
