Patriarch

Change of plans. The other grandfather has spoken. Hubs and I are not at all sure we understood him well, but we believe we have come to recognize when he is swinging his THP (Traditional Hispanic Patriarch, South Texas Barrio dialect) gavel and to simply back off until he gets tired of swinging that gavel. If our ifs are in alignment, we are following the example of the rest of his family in that reaction. The other grandfather is far more preach than teach when he is swinging his THP gavel, and the sermons do get intense, far flung and lengthy. No racism intended with the THP reference. The other grandfather plays his race card continually. Just saluting his strictly personal pride. I've never heard any of his family subordinates play the race card, but they don't have to. The family patriarch plays it often enough for all of them.

We are still awaiting updates on the developments as pertain to the GK's. The only agreed upon summary so far is that I amnae driving south this morning. Works in progress.

No surprise here and we were more or less braced for this very reaction. Reserving space for our worry about the welfare of the GK's, Hubs and I are standing by the decision to NOT bail out their parents in this go-round. After 6 years of paying their bills and bailing them out of their messes, we are feeling well advanced into the insanity of doing the same thing over and over while expecting different results.
