Passed the first test

Last night was a first on my road to sobriety. Kid and wife were not home when I get there, they are on spring break so I had the place to myself. We still have alcohol in the house since my wife does drink wine and enjoys a bloody mary once in a while. Normally this would be the time I would start to drink (4:30pm) and go till ???
So I get there and stare it all down, then one of the cats rubs against my leg and then it hit me, I have other stuff I need to do and I don’t need alcohol to do it. so rather than grabbing a beer I got out the cat and dog food and fed the animals. After that I was tempted to reward myself with an attaboy beer but instead I got in my truck, went to Wal-Mart and got a six pack of flavored water and some fruit. Got back home and finished cleaning the house.
I vacuumed, dusted, scooped litter, did two loads of laundry and made me some nacho’s and sat down in front of the tube. After a couple nacho’s I was thirsty (too many peppers) so I went to fridge for something cold and there it was, a beer… But instead, grabbed another water and sat back down.
I know it doesn’t seem like much but it was pretty damn huge for me..
