Part--5 Day--5 Look of Horror!
Being waken several times during the night for more vitals and blood; was awakenend with movements of being served breakfast. Scrambled eggs, toast and jelly, hot oatmeal, half-banana and decaf, and low-fat milk.
After; The doctor came in and said I was doing quite well as he had just checked all my tests. Told me to be easy on myself as I had a very severe HA. Told him; that wouldn't be a problem.
About 9:30 AM; was informed by the nurse that I will be transported to the main floor. She removed the IV tubes and probe in my arm and a Catherer; Yes; I believe you know where that was inserted, which was a relief! Then unhooked all the wires to the monitors.
And away I go. I got all moved to my new private room and was rehooked up to the monitors. I turned over and noticed pain in my right bicep. Raised up the slleve on the gown--OH MY GOD! Shocked! As I stared at a complete deep Black and Brusied bicep that was 2 1/2 times the size of normal. Scared: I hit the call button and said I needed help ASAP; explaining what I saw.
The nurse arrived and looked at it and went and got a doctor; who looked at it and had the nurse draw more blood. Another Doctor came in and I was told that I would be OK as they were going to give me medication for "Blood Platelet Count"; as it was low. Also that it would take time for the swelling to go down and the bruising may last a month before it completley disappears.
