Part-3 Stent-time in the OR
I look around, there is the clock; it's 9:30 AM, Frisday and I'm a bit anxious and I am wiggling my left toe, Doc. says: You have to stay still !!! I reply; What's on my toe? it's another monitor. Will have you out of the OR in 30 mins, stay still! Said; will do my best.
Next I knew, was being lifted onto the bed, and wheeled to ICU, where I would be for the next 5 1/2 days. After I was given some breakfast which i wasn't interested in eating, the Doctor came in and told me had opened up 2 arteries and inserted stents, that Monday he would do another stent and open a smaller artery. Told me to get plenty of rest, and he would periodically check on me.
Wow! Nurses came in every 4 hours to draw blood, take vitals, bring me water, etc. They checked in on me every 15 mins. as i wondered how i was going to get any rest.
My manager came in and said; I have to get back to work and will be back Sunday. Guess we din't know how serious this was. My reply was See you soon! Don't forget me here!
That night, had trouble falling asleep; some lady was wailing and shouting; let me out of here. Then a nurse would draw more blood, and another checking my vitals and changing IV's. Saturday I was allowed to have the TV on and i ate a bit of breakfast, lunch and skipped the evening meal, other than the sherbert and jello. Continued
