Parkinsons Unity Walk
This morning was the big walk in New York City central park. My team, Young Onset of Westchester was there in force. We all had matchiing tie dye shirts thanks to our friend Anne Dowling. Our Group met our fund raising goal and my personal effforts raised over $2000.00 It is uncomfortable asking other people for money but the pride that comes with raising money for such a worthy cause makes it all seam worth wile. At the walk the croud was huge. It was a hoot meting Paula and her team Sully who came to New York from Chicago. They were all sporting matching green shirts. The energy level was over the top. There was a whole section of tents with information from the PD drug manufacturers, organizations, services, etc. There was lots shwag for the taking. MY daughter came home from college and my wife Joanne walked with us too. The walk was just a mile and 1/4 so many people with impaired movement were able to participate. After the walk we had lunch together. Now home and resting on the couch. It was exciting to see and participate in this event which brings international attention to our caause. I hope to meet more of my DS friends next year at the unity walk. Good luck and good health to all, ALEX
