PARKINSON'S FOR REAL

Hi  Journal, I've come to talk with you again.
A post by terapins, some time ago. I refer to 'unless your off the meds'.
'Im not sure you can know the real Parkinsons unless youroff the meds.no offense aliveo but meds create much more than basic PD symptoms. It seems that everyone has slightly different experiences with what is their most debilitating symptom'.
Indeed no offense taken, my good fellow.I have been 'off my meds', on quite a number of occasions.
In 2004 I underwent DEEP BRAIN STIMULATION. Both before and after DBS, I have had tests a plenty. For these tests I was required to present myself at the clinic, in an un-medicated state from the previous evening, that is, no meds. So I was running on empty, as it were.
As I have been required to undergo tests regularly since having DBS, for research purposes, I am required to present my self un-medicated as described above. Thus I can say I have been 'off my meds', quite a few times, which accordingly, qualifies me, according to the above post by terapins, to know the real Parkinson's. I myself make no claims to this, yet I do feel obliged to comment on this issue.
Going without medication for the DBS tests and research, is the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. I was, as in an advanced state of Parkinson's, barely able to move, if at all and, in a wheel chair. Very much like my unfortunate peers who are in such advanced states, which leads me to feel that this is the real Parkinson's, impostor that it is.
  MAINTAIN A WINNING POSITION.

It is horrible how you feel when you are trapped within your body. I have been ill with bronchitis and it has severely increased my symptoms. I could barely walk yesterday. Often when ill the body reacts in a negative way with PD. I am with you and know how it feels to live with the daily struggles that this disease. Stay strong and take care of yourself!!
