Part 2

The weight is coming off so slowly when compared to my youth. I'm taking a medication that slows your metabolism. Keeps me nice and fat. Of course i won't need the medication once I lose weight. My friend, who has lost over thirty pounds, stopped taking blood pressure medication. I'm looking forward to that day.
Norske, my suggestion would be to avoid paying a ton of money at diet centers and don't buy the books either. There is an old saying in the computer world: "Garbage in, garbage out." So that's all you need to know to lose weight. If you eat 3000 calories a day, you're not going to lose weight. You have to stick to 1200-1500 calories. Then it doesn't matter if it's Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers. It's still about portion sizes. And none of them can give you will power.  What they do is encourage life-time overweight memberships.  They will put you on an overpriced plan that will take the pounds off.  The food is tasty, but then you start missing the old way you use to eat and you're putting the weight back on.  Then you end up going back for help losing the weight again and they get to collect  your money again.  Remember Jenny Craig is owned by Nestle.  So you eat the delicious deserts of Nestle, then end up paying the same people to take it off.  To top it off, it's more expensive than the junk they sell.
Weight Watchers is a little better, teaching you what to eat.  Still, the will power comes from us.  Are we ready to embrace thinness or are we ready to embrace Red Velvet cupcakes?
I've always had this dream whenever I hear those commercial saying stuff like, lose ten pounds for ten dollars.  I'd like to take them up on that.  I want to walk into a diet center and hand them ten dollars, then they get their magic wand out and I'm magically ten pounds lighter.
