panic attacks
I now can add panic attacks to my list of ailments. I was rushed to Accident and emergency department Tuesday with palpitations I thought I was going to die. After ECG tests and blood tests and a good 5hours panic was sort of over. What is so strange that at the time my heart was pounding through my chest I wasn't particulary doing anything but sitting infront o my pc. It may well have been the accumilation of events over the past few weeks that I attempted to be free of this blasted agrophobia...! Never thought I was the type to get panic attacks,as Ive had worse events in my life and I was sort of copying better. Anyway,I will try not to let this set back stop me getting out,but I will have to find ways to relax more, and tackle what ever sparked this episode off. Ive been doing alot of crying and I suppose thats just a reaction, but I feel such a fool for giving my nearest and dearest the fright of their lives and I really did think my number was up. Theres no fool like an old fool I guess...

I had been suffering with panic attacks since age 17 till I was 26. One day in my job, I started to feel that pounding of my heart, and I needed air, I couldn\'t breath, so I started to breath faster and shallow. I thought I was having a heart attack. My hands, arms and legs started to feel numbed. I was sweating and shivering. I ended up in the hospital. And the nurse recognized it right away as an anxiety attack. My in-laws didn\'t understand and thought that I just wanted attention. Now when I find myself getting anguished for or for not apparent reason, I stop completly and think to myself that there is not a reason to feel that way. That I have the control and try to not let my fear get out of control. It helps me when I can take a time and breath deeply and slow trying to make myself relax. I haven\'t had another panic attack again. I hope this little experience can help you erase the panic attacks from your list of ailments. God Bless You.
