The entire process takes place in a preparation chamber installed with nine boiling kettles, each 12 meters in diameter. Top quality beer are often made using only the first press of the wort. This two-story building is made of bricks reinforced by steel-frame, covered with granite, based on a hipped roof structure with slate roofing. Three dome-shaped dormer windows with stained glass are placed 外壁塗装 on the rooftop at the front. It was used as the Chugoku Bank Kurashiki Hommachi Branch until 2016. Imabashi between the Ohara Museum of Art and the Former Ohara Family Residence & Yurinso was rebuilt by Ohara Magosaburo at his own expense in preparation for a visit by the Crown Prince in 1916. The Imperial chrysanthemum crest and the dragon engraved on the handrails of the bridge were designed by Kojima Torajiro.
Okayama Castle, with its four-level donjon, is a 1966 concrete reconstruction of an original castle built in 1573. Yunogo Onsen features natrium and calcium springs and variety of baths, including a cave onsen, rock onsen and kama onsens that resemble large kettle drums. The library on the second floor of Benesse House Museum is a space flooded with the sunlight of Setouchi through the large windows that are a distinctive feature of the architecture. You are free to view drawings by Tadao Ando made during the designing of Benesse House Museum and the Chichu Art Museum, as well as books relating to the artists in our collection. Using our technical foundation comprising the bioengineering and mechatronics technologies of our Technical Research Laboratory, through trial and error we eventually developed our first automated nucleic acid isolation system. This system was compatible with laboratory automation, which was rapidly spreading at the time, and it earned praise from many researchers. This creative and low-cost system responded to the needs of the times, especially with the start of the Human Genome Project a few years later. This made it lauded as one of the three most important pieces of equipment in the gene analysis field. Today, its use has spread to include gene analysis reagents and cell culture reagents in the food and medical fields.
The building exterior is in Indian sandstone for its color and texture in keeping with the natural surroundings. The stones come from the Deccan Plateau, India, as result of careful selection processes through several expeditions. The spacious lobby enjoys plenty of natural light coming through the wall-to-wall atrium window, 8 m high and 32 m wide. The ceiling gently slopes down toward the window to frame the view over the ocean. Halfway up the mountain is the Washuzan Visitor Center, another superb viewing spot. “The palace hall known as Okama-den is where the myth-based ritual Narukama Shinji is held.
Built in the sukiya style, it represents an eighteenth-century town residence of wealthy classes in Japan. His upper-floor atelier has been restored, where it is believed he painted his famous masterpiece, the Red and White Plum Blossoms . As you walk along the canal lined with graceful weeping willows, you will see warehouse buildings once used to store rice, featuring the unique local architectural style of white plaster with black tile.
By thinking outside the box, we turned a negative into a positive—eliminating pollution while creating an environmentally friendly waste treatment system. This system not only solved Kurabo’s problem of how to treat sludge in plant wastewater; it also launched our start as an environmental plant manufacturer. We went on to successful developments like the KISCAM system for removing dioxins from exhaust gas and an in-water treatment system. We continue to develop basic technologies to help customers achieve the most environmentally friendly plants. The Technical Research Laboratory was established as an in-house, independent technological research institute in order to secure research equipment and facilities and human resources.
Among the 4,000 items in the museum's collection are ceramics, handblown glass, rugs, fancy mats, straw jackets, woodblock prints, wooden crafts and other folkcrafts. Around the museum are traditional-style Japanese houses and shops selling traditional crafts such as pinwheels, mobiles, handmade paper objects, bizenware pottery, and wooden toys. It is worth the time to seek out the Kurashiki Spinning Works, an old textile site. Featuring Renaissance style, this was designed by Yakushiji Kazue and built to house the Daiichi Godo Bank Kurashiki Branch in 1922.
The site paves the road to Kurabo’s future by bringing together engineers from various fields who collaborate using state-of-the-art testing and evaluation equipment. The center also links with the development divisions of Kurabo and its group companies to drive the creation of new businesses. The biotechnology boom arrived with the ability to handle genes inside test tubes. Research institutes everywhere began extracting genes, but at that time it was still all done by hand. Gene extraction was a delicate process that had to proceed with the utmost care, and many researchers had to take significant time to carry out this menial work.
It was moved to Jikōin Temple in Nara, then transferred to the private villa of the twentieth-century industrialist Mitsuis in Kanagawa, before acquired by the Museum. “The bike trail runs mainly through rice fields, where egrets graze among waves of bowing rice husks nearly ripened to gold. Cycling amid the rustic autumn scenery, I came across the magnificent five-story pagoda at Bitchu Kokubunji temple. Then I caught a glimpse of a stone coffin in the confines of a cavern at the Komorizuka ancient burial mound. I continued past the Tsukuriyama ancient burial mound, which looked like a satoyama--a village-managed forest area. Okayama is also home of the Tsuyama Natural Science Museum, which housed a collection of taxidermic animals, formaldehyde babies and even the internal organs of the museum's founder.
