The Ohara Best exhibition and the event to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the foundation was held on November 5. She graduated from Oil Painting Course, School of Art, Nagoya University of Arts in 2008, and studied at Ecole nationale des beaux arts de Dijion, France as an exchange student. She received M.F.A from Graduate School of Tokyo Zokei University in 2010.
In this Exhibition, all artworks are made by children in elementary school and junior high school in Kurashiki. The Tokyo Fuji Museum is located in Hachioji, Tokyo, and is home to approximately 30,000 works of art from various genres. A special event at the Okayama Prefectural Museum of Art looks specifically at items from the Tokyo Fuji Museum's European painting collection, which spans a timeframe of around 400 years. The museum is open until 7 pm and curators conduct gallery talks in both collection and special exhibition galleries. The "Okayama Art" exhibit showcases museum collection works, with Japanese painting displays changed monthly and Western art and crafts changed quarterly.
This inquiry has produced a body of work that ranges from scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals, to design interventions and art exhibits. She has made contributions to understanding how plants respond to the force of gravity, how genome structure changes in response to stress, and most recently has turned her attention to the ubiquitous and invisible microbial component of our environment. She consistently makes the tools – software, wetware, hardware – needed to answer her research questions. Her collaborative works have been shown at the Venice Biennale , the Storefront for Art and Architecture in New York, and the Detroit Science Gallery, among others. She currently holds an Assistant Professor position at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering in New York and teaches courses in biodesign. His clear and serene world, created by his delicate sensitivity, reflects the warm climate of the Seto Inland Sea where he was born and raised, as well as the refined artistic climate of Kyoto which existed on a grand scale.
His practice prioritises movement away from the specialised art economy, in favour of endeavours that circulate in the economy-at-large, utilising prevailing modes of production – such as mass-produced products and proprietary molecular structures. The event to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the foundation was held on November 7. The events to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the foundation were held on November 6 through 8. Magosaburo, well-known as a collector of Japanese art, highly respected Torajiro’s talent and his humble attitude towords art, and sent Torajiro to Europe three times. Torajiro studied art in Europe and, at the same time, with Magosaburo’s superb European artwork, choosing pieces through the sense of beauty that he possessed as a Japanese artist.
This exhibition brings together some of the Museum’s great contemporary artworks by OKAZAKI Kazuo, KUDO Tetsumi and so on. Yuka Kashihara uses oil paint applied in a thinly diffuse manner similar to that of Japanese nihonga painting, and by applying it in numerous layers she is able to create a unique depth of color. Within the world of her artworks, scenes from both reality and the spaces of the internal imagination are gently interwoven. Against this backdrop, having left Japan and moved to Germany where she continued developing her practice, Kashihara acquired an interest in the ‘distance’ between the internal and the external. This included the physical distance between Japan and Germany; and further, the distance herself as a Japanese person and herself while in Germany. This becomes expressed symbolically as an introspective speculation in the forms of the motifs of caves, holes, mountains and lakes which she repeatedly takes up within her work, and through this process of sublimation it is as though the original energies which lie dormant within the great Earth have become awakened.
This exhibition brings together some of our greatest paintings including Japanese modern paintings and works by local artists. The Ohara Museum of Art, in addintion to opening the eyes of children and adults on site, soends time and energy on distance learning programs through the infomation communication technology.As an art museum that will actively live through the 21st century, it also serves for broad activities cultivating the frontier of art. Art Lectures are held every summer, and Gallery Concerts, inviting world-class musecians, are part of its activities. This is the publicly sponsored exhibition held by the Japan Art Institute. We will exhibit traditional Japanese paintings including not only the works made by a member of the Japan Art Institute, but the prize-winning works in Okayama.
The Ohara Museum of Art plays an active role in Kurashiki, expanding the collection to include both modern and contemporary art from the West and Japan, as well as pieces by artists who served Mingei Movement . Now the museum is well known to the world as a private museum with its own character, reflecting Japanese culture. A renowned businessperson from Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture, Magosaburo Ohara (1880–1943) left indelible marks on the fields of social contribution and public welfare.
