Packing
Hello Community,
Mickie and I are packing for our trip to Lisbon. We have laid clothes out and tomorrow will bag them. I am also taking my exercise equipment. We are really looking forward to the trip. We have made all the arrangements. (I should have been a travel agent.)
We will fly AA to Heathrow...Then BA to Lisbon. The return will be BA to Heathrow and AA to Chicago. We will be in Lisbon for 10 days.
The first 3 days we will stay at the Hotel Cascais Miragem. We will then stay at the Lisbon Marriott for 7 days.
We are taking a Portuguese Cooking class on June 28...That should be fun/interesting. Each year we join a law school general raffle and we offer a Meal with the Professor (Mickie)...We have been cooking Thai and Persian meals in the past...Now we can add a Portuguese meal to the options. The raffle is to support Public Law endeavors...Noble cause.
Now the really good news...We will be traveling business class (We have many FF miles) so the flight will be comfortable. The conference hotel is paid for by the law school and we used Marriott points for the stay at the Lisbon Marriott...so airfare and hotel costs are essentially free...We have to pay taxes...about $50.00.
I will be taking pictures. However, my pics are to "large" to be uploaded to DS. I will send sites instead.

Have a great trip. I envy you in your travels, and in this case taking a Portuguese Cooking class. Was your dad in any of the large hail storm area of Dallas a few days ago? Enjoy your trip. Dan

Thanks for your support...And yes, Dan, my father-in-law was \"punished\" by the storm(s)...Windows and skylights damaged and lots of rain in the garden room. He is sort of \" out off it\". Hopefully, this event will help us to convince him to move to a senior residence...I doubt it....

Sounds like a fantastic trip. Don\'t you love it when things work out in your favor money wise? We were able to do business class on an overseas trip once, Spoiled us for life! lol
Sorry about the damage to your FIL\'s house. Good Luck on the senior residence ideal. I kind of doubt he will go willingly. At 90, it sounds like he still has some fight left in him. (and good for him!!!)

The FIL has a lot of stubbornness in him.
We will enjoy the trip. The first 3 days Mickie is involved in the conference (http://www.ipbusinesscongress.com/2012)....I will be on my own to roam the beaches, restaurants, and bars...
