Ownerations
The co-owners are ownerating. The project is feeling doomed this morning. The flashbacks to Mister Surname's oppressive patriarch style are almost non-stop. The FIL seems to be slowly morphing into the brother-in-law's wife within this particular flashback set. Like the FIL before her, the SIL is an aggressive, take charge soul who will look like they are encouraging you until it is time to move ahead. Then comes the assertive authority to pull the rug out from under the proceedings. Why? Because *I* The Boss.
It remains a simple fact that I still do not know the BIL or SIL outside the MIL/FIL catered events. I am not believing they felt any more blessed to show their true colors there than Hubs or I did. If that was the whole of them, I don't like them. No point in even trying to collaborate. Leave the line items in their portfolios alone. This is not 140 acres of living eco-system. It is a dollar value in their net worth. What does Life have to do with it?
The SIL really does need to be in charge of her family affairs. The BIL is fairly advanced in his Huntington's Disease. HD remains a mystery to me. I have read much of the available literature, but my in-laws aren't in any of the case studies. I still find myself sliding down rocky hills of whatever the in-laws want to call ^it^ when I try to ply what I've read to the living, breathing people in front of me. Hubs has been navigating a fissurey line between respecting his brother's place in all of this while letting his SIL be the actual decision maker. I, of course, remain on the outside looking in from a support-only position. He returned to maximum control freak the very minute he read the email containing outline of "The Surname Dual Ownership Plan." Is it time for the employee entourage to come barreling up the driveway with all due authority?
Dunno. I remain ready, willing and able to walk away from all this and let the Surnames have it. I miss my rivers. The closest rivers to this piece of the Southern Great Plains are sad little trickles through sand, limestone and shale.
Prayers in progress. . .

My ex husband's family has property that's co-owned like that. I'm infinitely glad to not be a part of it anymore. Land was beautiful, I got to enjoy it. But I do NOT miss it.
The land is not responsible for the wars humans have fought over it.
In-laws, outlaws or something bad as that
If laws were calories we would all be fat
Maybe laws ARE calories.
