Overwhelmed again.
Well, hello, Thursday...
Had one heck of a day at work, batting off problems, phone ringing, I am not used to that sort of thing. By 1:00 I was spent.
My recent design is at a stop right now. I have a problem with one thing and to fix it will take a lot of changes. Ugh. Changes I don't want to do.
But all in all I should be proud, this design is huge and there wasn't too many problems with it. But alas, you know the drill, I am not as I should.
And once I am done checking it out, then the hard part comes. The system program. I suppose with that loomng in the background, that is the real reason why I am not pushing forward anymore. It promises to be overwhelming.
I have been okay lately, though, but still not enough to engage with my family. This has troubled DW from way back. I am just beat. My head is just focused on the basics, food, sleep, escape, etc. Talking to the kids is hard, especially when DW is a good talker and monopolizes the conversations, and when you know that every time you open your mouth, some angry teenager is gonna knock you down somehow.
Tonight our house is to be shown. I changed the water filter last night, which for once was a major pain in the ass, since I had to try five times to get it to stop leaking. that never happens. I know what it takes to get the leaking to stop. I did manage to succeed, but because of the inconvenience of it all, I was getting short-tempered. And I am sure DW recognized that when she offered to help. Ugh. I can be such a jerk sometimes when I am under duress. Maybe it's because I feel helpless, and when that happens, it takes over. I flip out. So anyhoo i had to lube the gasket, and I felt lucky that I didn't have to go buy a new one, because it takes an hour or so to get one. If I could just snap my fingies and one appears, I am sure I wouldn't be so upset.
We also got a ton of water yesterday, in the form of rain, and I was happy to see that the basement didn't flood or seep. I worry so much about that these days.
Saturday is opening day of trout season. Hoardes of people come out for this. I asked my kids if they want to try, and to my surprise, my daughter said she would like to go. I planned on going to a large stream nearby, which is what I have only done once since I have lived here. I used to go behind my mother's house, which used to be decent fishing, but I can't go there now. So I haven't decided whether to take her to a local stream, of just give up that thought and go to the trout park nearby. That place gets crazy busy with people because they overstock the park (it's a pond) and it's supposedly easy fishing. I have only caught two trout there in my many attempts there but I never go on opening day. I have also thought about doing both, hitting the stream alone at dawn, and then picking up my daughter to go to the park when she wakes up. I dunno.
