Overwhelmed
So, here I am, 3 years later. I had Gastric Bypass in June 1, 2021 and after losing 96 lbs in 6 months, I plateued for about a year and have since regained about 32 lbs. I am so frustrated by this and feel like such a failure. I know some of it is my fault due to the decisions I have made, but I also feel that my body is failing me because my metabolism is lower than it should be (by 12%) and I am hitting the early stages of menopause. I feel so overwhelmed and that I am doomed to fail. I know that the surgery wasn't supposed to be a quick fix and that it requires permanent changes in my eating and exercise habits but I see others who have had the surgery and they have been super successful which makes me feel even more like a failure. I feel at a loss for where I go from here or if it is even worth it at this point. I mean, it seems that no matter what I do, the weight keeps creeping up with no end in sight. Part of me wants to give up and succumb to what I feel is inevitable but then there is a part of me that wants to keep fighting. I just don't know where to start.
